The war in Western Asia and North Africa has been going on for decades. It is a war of intersecting economic interests. It is a war of cultures and religions, of worldviews. It is a geopolitical war on a large scale. It has it all. Every few years the conflict erupts in one or another country: Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Kurdistan... or Iran. In a way, the current conflict was an expected event, what surprises us is the virulence of it all.
Around this atavistic hatred between the different states and peoples, the role of the Zionist state of Israel stands out, which has become the spearhead of imperialism. In the current context, the Atlanticist imperialist project has lost all humanist and democratizing veneer, and uses brute force and verbal violence with all the cruelty possible. They even talk about holy war, exactly like the other Iranian side. The European states, once again, side with the United States and Israel in their new warmongering adventure, dragging us into a global war without current precedents. The situation escalates at times, in the face of the disbelief of the Western peoples, distant witnesses of their leaders blinded by imperial dynamics.
From Embat, Libertarian Organization of Catalonia, we reject this new imperialist and Zionist military intervention that will only bring pain and destruction to the peoples of the area. This does not mean that we are on the side of the regime of the ayatollahs of Iran. This repressive regime mercilessly murdered tens of thousands of people who went out to protest about two months ago. Agents of imperialism, people who want democracy or people who are fed up with everything? There was everything. We will not fall into the error of taking a side for the whole, nor the whole for the side. We recognize the imperialist aggression and condemn it, just as we condemn the murderous regime.
To the same extent, we support the peoples of the entire area, who are fighting for their survival, crushed by authoritarian regimes such as the states of Israel, Turkey, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman or Iran. We sympathize with the peoples who are genuinely fighting for their freedom, such as the Kurds, Armenians, Assyrians, Balochis, Amazigh, Palestinians and others who are fighting for their existence. In the same way, we want to support the incipient revolutionary expressions that may occur in those lands, such as workers' councils or strike committees. They are not tools of Yankee imperialism, but the cradle of a new world.
In this sense, our task as internationalist revolutionary militants is undoubtedly to suffocate the industrial war machine and work to make imperialist aggression impossible. In our territory we have international arms companies, we live in an imperialist state that is part of NATO and we have American army bases there, and no matter how much "no to war" social democracy wants to appropriate, we know that peace is the historical revolutionary proposal. We need to hegemonize the discourse, the anti-authoritarian rejection of the domination of peoples and work actively with the rest of the revolutionary agents to make impossible the warmongering expansion proposed by the imperial centers. The sign of our time is the decomposition of the imperial order and the capitalist crisis and climatic devastation. Today more than ever our hearts and thoughts are with those who face the harshest face of these times. For a true peace, the only valid proposal is to dismantle its global war machinery, a real liberation that requires the revolutionary action for which we Embat militants work.
