First of all, we like to remember Claudio as an anarchist comrade of great human caliber, welcoming, friendly, and with a great sense of humor, a pleasant person to spend time with, whether sharing struggles and ideals or simply exchanging a few words. Ours is a simple tribute that enriches the fabric of memory; among our many experiences, we like to remember that our paths of activism and debate intertwined many times, and beyond the streets, we shared some important political and organizational moments. In 1986, he joined the Pisan Anarchist-Communist Federation, and between 1992 and 1994, he was active in the Libertarian Communist Organization (OCL), contributing significantly to the organized anarchist movement, in connection with the Federation of Anarchist Communists. During those years, he strengthened his theoretical and practical commitment, intertwining his political activity with that of cultural development. He later joined the FAI and remained a regular contributor to the movement's press: his byline has graced publications such as "Comunismo libertario," to which he also contributed more recently between 2002 and 2006, as well as "Umanità Nova" and "A-Rivista anarchica." Having trained at nursing school, he was primarily a trade unionist, active for decades in various professional organizations. He was among the founders of the anarchist circle in Vicolo del Tidi in Pisa. He wrote three volumes on Camillo Berneri (1897-1937), one of his favorite authors in the anarchist field, published with the Kronstadt Group of Volterra between 2015 and 2021. Close to the Franco Serantini Library since the late 1980s, he was an integral part of the cooperative that managed its activities in the 1990s, offering a constant and valuable contribution. We love to remember his great humanity and affability with his comrades but also with anyone who approached him, his great sense of humor and his engaging smile.
"He who has comrades never dies," and for this reason, you will continue to take to the streets with us in our hearts and we will keep your enthusiasm alive, and if "they leave you dead, we will bring you alive."Best regards,
The comrades of Alternativa Libertaria
