Strangely enough, China has come into the picture – with somewhat contrasting reports.
Zelensky said China has communicated to Russia that nukes are a no-no, but around the same time, a leaked presentation showed that Beijing and Moscow have worked more closely than initially believed, jointly developing arms projects – including one aimed at destroying the US’s Starlink.
Otherwise, the war raged on with its usual ferocity – Russia hit Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region over 1,000 times in the past day, while Ukraine’s drone raid across Russia, including Moscow, struck a number of refineries. Crimea is also experiencing extensive blackouts after a number of substations were hit in recent days.
Syrsky also said Russia’s large-scale offensive has failed despite its manpower advantages – but threats from Belarus persist, according to Ukraine’s border guards, with more infrastructure buildup underway.
