Right now, Russia is facing another wave of devastating attacks on its military and energy infrastructure, and things are certainly not looking good for Vladimir Putin.
On November 1, Ukrainian drones reportedly struck the massive Lukoil-NORSI oil refinery in Kstovo, one of Russia's largest refineries, triggering a major fire. This came after attacks on other Russian industrial and energy facilities, including a chemical plant involved in producing rocket fuel for Russian weapons.
These strikes are significant because Russia's ability to wage war depends heavily on its energy industry, military production, and supply networks. Ukraine is increasingly demonstrating that the consequences of invading a neighboring country can reach deep inside Russian territory.
Putin wanted to weaken Ukraine and force its people into submission. Instead, more than four years into this war, Ukraine continues to resist and strike back.
The road to victory is still difficult, and nobody should pretend the war is over. But Ukraine has every right to defend its sovereignty and fight for its freedom.
