China De race om olifanten te redden

Beste vrienden,

  • prullaria;
  • houding tegenover ivoor te helpen veranderen;
  • de consumentenhandel in Zuidoost Azië en de VS;

World : China : Gay cures banned?‏

Dear Luc,
Anti-gay clinics don't want you to see this video:
After enduring electro-shock therapy at a gay ‘cure’ clinic in China, Xiao Zhen has ignited a global outcry against these dangerous gay 'cures.'
100,000 All Out members signed his petition. Media all over the world are talking about him. Now, the World Health Organization (WHO) has agreed to meet with him in China.
Now’s our chance to make this even bigger. If we share this video and sign Xiao Zhen’s petition we can push the WHO to speak out against these 'cures' for good. Click below to watch his powerful story and then sign Xiao Zhen’s petition:
Click to watch
Do you remember our #LoveAlwaysWins video? This video showed the impact that Russia’s anti-gay laws would have on gay and lesbian people. Thousands of us shared it, driving the video to go viral. 1.5 million people saw it, there was tons of media coverage, and it ignited a global conversation. We put Russia's anti-gay laws at the center of Olympic coverage.
Share Xiao Zhen's video now to start the conversation to end anti-gay 'cures.'

Thanks for going All Out,
Andre, Jeremy, Gaëlle, Guillaume, Sara, Oscar, Leandro and the rest of the All Out team.

PS: Our friend Xiao Zhen is a gay ‘cure’ survivor and he’s made a powerful 90-second video. If thousands of us watch and share his message, we can whip this movement into a frenzy. Thanks to signatures from All Out members, the World Health Organization has agreed to meet with Xiao Zhen. If we pile on the pressure, we can push them to help stop gay ‘cures’ for good. Watch the video

China : The end of gay cures‏

"If the World Health Organization speaks up tomorrow, we could end gay 'cures' in China for good. Let's keep it up!"  -Xiao Zhen, gay 'cure' survivor
Urgent action: 24h to call the WHO to stop anti-gay 'cures'.

Dear Luc,
Wow – 95,000 All Out members just joined Xiao Zhen's petition to end gay 'cures'. Now we can make his call even more powerful. In 24 hours the World Health Organization is gathering thousands of doctors and officials to help stop suicide among vulnerable groups – including lesbian, gay, bi and trans people.
Major health associations have confirmed these sham 'cures' harm people, and could lead to suicide. What if the WHO took this meeting to call for a ban on gay 'cures' once and for all?
Here's the plan, Luc: if thousands of us flood the WHO with emails before the meeting tomorrow, we can push them to call for a ban on gay 'cures' in front of the whole world.
Click here to send an email directly to the World Health Organization's inbox to stop anti-gay 'cures':
Imagine the impact it would have on gay and lesbian people in China and around the world. The world's medical authority could set a medical standard that being gay is not a disease and can't be cured. This could push health ministers to fight these anti-gay 'clinics' worldwide.
If you take just two minutes to sign, this change could start happening now. If they get thousands of messages from people around globe, they will see this as a huge issue and could speak out against gay 'cures' in front of the whole world.
Click here to send a message to the WHO:https://www.allout.org/email-who
We've had big successes with global organizations before. A few years ago, hundreds of us called on foreign ministers to vote YES on an historic resolution to protect human rights at the United Nations. The UN approved the resolution, protecting lesbian, gay, bi and trans rights around the world.
Let's join together again to end gay 'cures'.

Thanks for going All Out,

Andre, Gaëlle, Guillaume, Jeremy, Oscar, Sara and the rest of the All Out team.

PS. Anti-gay 'cure' survivor Xiao Zhen needs our help. His petition is being considered by the WHO but we need to make sure they tell the whole world gay 'cures' have to stop. They're holding a key meeting on mental health tomorrow: if thousands of us flood them with messages, we could make sure they push Chinese authorities to stop gay 'cures' for good. China : I was in a gay 'cure' clinic‏

"No one should face the trauma I did at a gay 'cure' clinic.

"When the patient has a gay thought, we electrocute them or inject them with drugs that make them sick." One gay 'cure' clinic doctor in China said this to show what they do to gay people.
It happened to me. In families like mine, being gay is still seen as something that can be cured, and scam clinics prey on that fear. Now,I want my friends, my family and everyone in China to understand that being gay is normal.
Dr. Margaret Chan is the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) – an influential international authority who's from China. If we come together by the thousands we could get her to speak out against anti-gay 'cures' – and help convince officials to finally ban them.
Will you sign my petition asking WHO Director Dr. Margaret Chan to speak up now and condemn gay 'cures' in China?
I've decided to go All Out and take the clinic to court. People are supporting me by staging brave public demonstrations showing how gay 'cure' clinics are dangerous scams. But, there's more we can do to build the momentum.
Imagine if we could deliver 50,000 signatures to Dr. Chan. Pressure from people all over the world could make her see how important it is to speak up against gay 'cures.' It would also send a message to Chinese society that being gay is normal.
Having the backing of an organization like the WHO could be a huge step towards banning these harmful 'cures' for good in China and around the world. Join me in calling Dr. Chan to make her powerful voice heard now in China and condemn gay 'cures':
I've been so inspired by the work of All Out members fighting gay 'cures' all over the world. You've gotten officials in Argentina, Ecuador and France to state that gay cures are dangerous. You've helped build the pressure to stop Brazil from legalising gay cures. You even helped pass a law in California that bans gay cures for young people.
Now, we can get the worldwide medical authority to join in busting the myth that being gay is a disease that can be cured once and for all. Help spread the word that being gay is NOT a disease. Sign now:

Thanks for going All Out with me,
Xiao Zhen*
with the support of Queer Comrades, the Beijing LGBT Centre and the All Out Team.

P.S. After I experienced electro-shocks at a gay 'cure' center in China, I decided to fight back. I need your help: if we can get the World Health Organization to speak up now and remind that being gay is not a disease, this could push the Chinese authorities to ban gay 'cures' for good. Sign now: https://www.allout.org/end-gay-cures-china
