Waarschuwingsbericht over Facebook-privacy is NEP

Er gaat weer eens iets viral op Facebook. Een boze boodschap claimt dat Facebook door de beursgang zomaar uw en mijn privacy kan schenden. Nep.

De makers van het juridische proza hebben er flink hun best op gedaan - de tekst wordt via menig statusupdate gereproduceerd. Social media-schepsels die hun privacy menen lief te hebben, zijn als een piloot die - eenmaal hoog in de lucht met een gevulde Boeing 747 - erachter komt dat hij vliegangst heeft.

Ter zake. Een stukje huis-tuin-en-keuken-research levert eigenlijk alleen maar websites op die zeggen dat het statement nonsens is. En dat is het ook, want MSNBC zegt het. Maar schroom vooral niet om wat te roepen in de reactievelden.
