(en) France, Alternative Libertaire AL #227 - ANI: A win-win for employers (fr)

Three unions have ratified an agreement on the brand competitiveness severe setbacks for
workers. The government wants to transpose into law as soon as possible. But the
resistance was organized. ---- By signing the national interprofessional agreement (Ani)
with employers, CFDT, CFTC and CFE-CGC have again betrayed the interests of employee-es.
The Socialist government, which welcomed the dialogue, forget too quickly that these three
unions are minority employment tribunals as the last elections in very small businesses
(28% of the vote). But when we agree with the therapy liberal government and servile media
are well aware with the reality. This agreement represents a major setback social: it
simplifies dismissal procedures, provides for the possibility of wage cuts in case of
difficulties the company and even forced transfers. Collaborationist unions came once more
to the logic of the worst.

A leitmotiv: to lower the cost of labor

Employers will never ask limit and increasing flexibility, effort "competitiveness" and
any blackmail which will increase its dividends. Indeed, the argument is always to compare
employer labor costs competitive international or even European. Following their
reasoning, all the workers of Europe should be indexed es the minimum wage Romanian or
Bulgarian! This is the logic of dumbing down that premium.

Against the compromise of some unions and government complicity with employers, nearly
200,000 employee-es the private sector have expressed their anger on March 5 at the call
of the CGT, FO, FSU and Solidarity. Contrary to what the mainstream media, this day is far
from being a failure and shows that mobilization is possible. Much of the employee-es
private feel while such agreement is largely unfavorable.

Of concern to uprising

If the mobilization of March 5 is encouraging, we know that it is insufficient to reduce
the government and employers. We must now build the balance of power to persuade
employees-are not giving renunciation and fight. Social plans in PSA, ArcelorMittal,
Sanofi, Goodyear, Virgin and many others show very clearly what to expect: unemployment or
a strong degradation of working conditions and pay.

The challenge for the coming months is to unite all employee-es: those who are victims of
social plans, but also those who are not yet. It is also to unify the demands of employees
in the private sector-es to those employed in the public sector-es, also hit by the
austerity policies and the non-replacement of retiring. Only a mass movement that remains
to be built will lead us to impose other choice!
