Saturday, February 16, 2000 we were more militants, association members, shoppers or 
simply Lyon people to demonstrate in Lyon against fascist violence, call the Collective 
Vigilance against the extreme right. In recent years, increasing social misery generated 
by the capitalist system benefits the development of the various movements of the extreme 
right. In Lyon, it is crystallizing around the small group "identity", which in their 
local area of ??Vieux Lyon since 2011. This presence in the city center has created a 
climate of fear among the inhabitants and shopping district, who suffer repeated attacks. 
Multiple beatings by their members or supporters against "foreigners", "leftist" or 
"queers" can not be counted.

The Collective Vigilance against the extreme right, bringing together parties, 
associations and organizations, including the CGA Lyon, has once again proved that the 
street does not belong to the fascists. The procession, dynamic and with a majority of 
libertarians, crossed the city center and Old Lyon crossing on the road a few provocateurs 
and the identity thirty (police protection) camped in front of their local, who had the 
leisure and scrolling a few thousand anti-fascists ...

Until the racist, sexist and hateful prejudices disappear permanently, the immediate 
demand of the event was the closure of local identity "the Traboul." In 2011 we managed to 
force mobilizations to force the city to close a local neo-Nazi in the Gerland. Although 
the loss of these premises does not solve everything, it is already possible to limit the 
spread of fascist ideas, but more importantly, it reduces violent attacks that usually 
take place nearby.

Anarchists are very present in the anti-fascist struggle. In particular, the CGA, 
including militants of many cities were present. In Lyon, the CGA has chosen to 
participate in Collective Vigilance which includes very different organizations and 
parties. The choice of the unit seems unavoidable in the immediate face of the fascist 
threat in Lyon, nicknamed "the laboratory of the extreme right." But our anti-fascism is 
not fascism front of the reformist left. We know that the fascist movements are allies of 
capitalist exploitation. They serve as an extended arm to the state and the bourgeoisie to 
divide us and prevent anti-capitalist emancipatory revolt. An effective fight against 
fascism can only be anti-capitalist and anti-sexist!

This event is just one step, we will continue the fight against fascism, and those against 
all forms of domination which fascism and capitalism feed. The struggle continues!
