A fast context ---- The demonstrations that shook the country against rising passages
brought again the direct action of the streets as a paradigm of struggle. Also showed the
limits of governismo, the neo-developmentalism in meeting the aspirations of youth,
precarious sectors of the working class and other exploited social groups. The widespread
protests again animated bodies, political organizations, social movements and workers /
those that achieved a significant victory, the lower the price of passage in several
cities. Although the victory is partial and its fruits have been manipulated by
governments (in most cities, municipalities subsidize entrepreneurs), street protests,
occupations and strikes avenues road again figured as instruments of mass struggle.
The increasing cooptation of the right staff
While the demonstrations brought formulas fight historical and combative working class,
the right began to infiltrate the acts. First with the bourgeois media basing broad claims
and ideas advocated by conservative sectors (against corruption, etc..) To appropriate
demands. Second, in an attempt to "caricature" ("vandals", "troublemakers") and creating
scapegoats within the protests to divide the left, already quite fragmented. The right
represents and synthesizes the interests of a dominant social class (bourgeoisie
industrial, agribusiness, etc..) And a mass movement, whatever it is, will suffer
political interference of these sectors to the extent that is contrary to their interests
or capilariza. We reaffirm that the growth of the conservative agenda in the course of
events must be explained mainly by the class structure of Brazilian society and the
current balance of forces in the country.
The right and antipartidarismo
In the middle of the acts, the right sectors and also ultra-right, the latter albeit
minority, began to infiltrate the rallies and surf the wave vainglorious defended by the
media monopoly (Rede Globo, etc.). Beating fellow strugglers and causing confusion in our
ranks. Reactionary sectors comprise institutional parties legalized (PSDB, DEM, PP),
authoritarian nationalist groupings (Front Integralista Brazilian, My Homeland, MV-BRAZIL)
and gangs ( skinhead nationalists , bald Brazil). The onslaught fascist social movements,
political parties and unions minimizing the force acts on the left classist, while
channeling popular dissatisfaction to reactionary ideologies. It should be noted that we
totally reject any fascist attitudes in street demonstrations! Reject fascism of ultras
and repudiate the attacks on leftists, political parties and movements! We offer our
solidarity to all / a partner / the assaulted / a!
If not every protester carries a flag of Brazil for an act is right or boastful, it is
clear that the reactionaries are fighting staves and popular sectors of youth who
participate in acts. It is an ideological dispute. We can not, however, overestimate their
presence, whose size and strength will prove decisive in the course of the next
mobilization. This would divert the focus of the action, it must be to have a clear policy
carried by social movements and associations, with demands and claims effectively classist
to "turn the tide of the game."
Responsibilities left forgotten
Self-criticism can be a tool for a more accurate diagnosis part of this movement as this,
with its weaknesses and strengths also exposed the limits of some of the historical
practices of the left who have been questioned. Limits as the priority of the
institutional left in play apparatuses and student union at the expense of strengthening
the foundations. Limits of a practical and instrumental aparelhista with social movements
(which only serve in most cases to endorse the voice of the party). The move also exposed
the lack of social inclusion of much of the left with the unemployed / those in slums,
poor youth in precarious (that could be pivotal in the process of deepening popular
demands). Exposed misguided policies that focus efforts on winning the state apparatus, in
bourgeois elections and the strengthening of parliamentary seats "combative" by some
sectors, these are marked by personalism and bourgeois legalism in the rite of the vote.
Exposed the limits of the defense of the police "citizen" (when even the UN has
recommended the termination of the Military Police in Brazil) and the support of certain
subtitles policies in the recent past to the strikes of these corporations, while, unlike
the idealism of this position, the PM showed their "class consciousness" massacring
protesters on the streets (and does so much more violent and commonplace in the slums, say
in passing with bullets "truth").
Although not crucial to explain the rise of the right, now surfs the wave of popular
protests, these hegemonic practices within the left for decades (and not the minority
sector with its libertarian defense of the autonomy and independence of the popular field)
contributed with the part that fits into the "apoliticism" and antipartidarismo today
emerges as a true side effect utilized by reactionary right.
Anarchism and the fight combative passages: unity against the right and popular power
against governismo
The antidote to this situation can only be popular organization and basic tool in the
fight in the neighborhoods in the suburbs, in the territories of resistance and peasant
struggles in the spaces and student unions, and channel that match the desires that youth
today is going to streets. We need to rescue the credibility of a revolutionary design in
this scenario, and we, anarchists, and other militants, have a key role, while the
libertarian wing of socialism. First, we must be clear that defeat the right is a job that
can only be done in a class alliance. governismo But can not use the rise of the
reactionary right to evade their responsibilities. For the agendas of right and capital
are being contemplated in the policies of the PT.
So the job is to strengthen popular resistance. This is based on specific guidelines aimed
at improving the living conditions of the working classes. When building popular power
from the grassroots fight for these improvements without the focus on issues
electioneering. People power is built long term and are not elections that define their
pace. The co-optation of social movements makes them dependent on the government is
elected and this situation leads them to defend the "lesser evil." Instead of going back
and back streets of this historical moment we see the possibility of moving, or where
necessary, rescue autonomy and strengthen and broaden the base of social movements to make
a qualitative leap.
The reactionaries need to be defeated and the unity of the left is critical at this time,
but must have criteria classist not to become a retreat. The movement also moves toward
conservatism when accepted inside social groups closely linked to the interests of the
bourgeoisie, which has the function to suppress the people. Likewise, direct action and
popular streets need to be backed by a basic work in workplaces, housing and study. A job
that gives prominence to popular movements and enter those who go to the streets today in
areas of organization of the exploited classes and oppressed!
In this sense, we FARJ of almost ten years and to a greater extent, the Brazilian
Anarchist Coordination (composed of 9 organizations in several states of Brazil), modestly
continue to build an alternative of fighting together with other / the mates / the
movements popular in the countryside and in the city. Going to the streets and organizing
the groundwork always certain of the challenge that lies ahead. Work to defeat right in
the neighborhoods, in the field, in the unions and in the streets! Print governismo to
popular demands repressed by the limits of bourgeois democracy!
For the zero tariff on shipping! 100% no public transport subsidies to entrepreneurs!
Against removals of communities and occupations!
By the end of the military police!
For agrarian reform to control the land for those who work it!
Winning with the popular force classist! Build popular power! Anarchism combative power
and building a popular way!
