France, Alternative Libertaire AL #239 - Solidarity in Action: Making moves for costs (fr, pt)

The Trade Union Solidarity launched in April a union campaign around a final observation: 
"The capitalists cost us!". campaign which aims to be a step in the assertion of an 
alternative unionism, mass and class. ---- If the dominant managed to impose in the media 
and heads the swindle of so-called "cost of labor", it is to put the record straight by 
clearly designating those expensive (very expensive) to society capitalists. ---- As an 
example we can speak more. In 2007, the share of dividends paid back to the shareholders 
of the CAC 40 was 48%, which was already the tune of $ 41 billion of the 96 billion 
results. In 2013, for those shareholders do not lose too much, it's a little more than $ 
39 billion that was donated to them, an amount that represents this time 81% of the 
results of the year1! But it is yet employee-es that the Government PS-MEDEF decided to 
clubbing again. Certainly, the crisis is not for everyone.

Raise the pressure

It was at the National Council of Solidarity January 20142, on a proposal from Solidarity 
Gard, it is decided to conduct a major campaign of several months against austerity. Pact 
"responsibility" is then in the process of sketching and then we feel the scam goes, once 
again, be large.

The CGT has launched its own campaign in November on the cost of capital3 and Solidarity 
decided to do the same, with an important distinction: it is not in this sort of cost of 
capital which would be legitimate or not (this propose that economists asked by the CGT) 
but to indict the social, economic, human and ecological aberration what the capitalist 
system as such.

A working group was set up, composed of representatives of professional organizations, and 
working on a hardware and a campaign schedule. A four-page denouncing the "4 costs of 
capitalism" is printed tens of thousands of copies, a central display is drawn in two 
formats, for union panels but also for pasting into industrial zones and business parks 
commercial. Especially, regular internal memo is programmed and the publication of 
thematic posters fortnightly. Finally, a page of the website Partners is dedicated to 
identifying various initiatives taken by professional organizations or territoriales4.

To meet the employee-es, discuss with other union teams, this is what must first enable 
this campaign. But the unions, it is also the class struggle. The work of explanation and 
belief, if necessary, can not stand on its own. Solidarity Congress, to be held from June 
2 to 6, will be the time to make a progress in the campaign and discuss a national 
initiative that could only help build the social return. This is what can and must be a 
union campaign to provide the means of action.
