Jun 10, 2014 08:00 pm U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on Tuesday took aim at the Boy Scouts of America, saying it's refusal to allow gay and lesbian adults to serve as scout leaders "perpetuates the worst kind of stereotypes." Jun 10, 2014 05:30 pm CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A federal judge has put a lawsuit challenging West Virginia’s ban on same-sex marriage on hold until a federal appeals court decides a similar Virginia case. U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers entered an order Tuesday that stayed the case until the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decides a case from Virginia. Read in browser »

Jun 10, 2014 04:30 pm ALBANY, N.Y. -- The New York State Assembly on Tuesday again approved the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA), a bill to prohibit discrimination on the basis of gender identity and expression. Jun 10, 2014 03:30 pm SALT LAKE CITY -- A Salt Lake City police officer who rejected an assignment riding a motorcycle at the front of last weekend's gay pride parade and was put on leave has now resigned. The officer, whose name is being withheld, was put on leave last week after police said he refused to provide traffic control at Sunday's parade. Read in browser »

On Tuesday, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals released an order saying it appears it lacks jurisdiction because Crabb isn't done with the case. Jun 10, 2014 11:30 am Lambda Legal filed a complaint Tuesday in the Washington, D.C., Office of Human Rights on behalf of a transgender woman who was given a restaurant receipt with an anti-LGBT slur printed on it while socializing with friends at a local hookah bar. Jun 10, 2014 11:00 am MILWAUKEE -- The latest count by The Associated Press shows clerks in 49 Wisconsin counties are issuing licenses to same-sex couples who want to get married. Jun 10, 2014 08:30 am CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Meeting in a statewide convention over the weekend in Cherokee, delegates of the North Carolina Republican Party adopted their new party platform, reasserting some anti-LGBT clauses and softening others. Jun 10, 2014 07:30 am BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The American Civil Liberties Union and the ACLU of Alabama on Tuesday filed a federal lawsuit challenging Alabama’s ban on marriage for same-sex couples. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of a same-sex couple from Birmingham who married in Massachusetts but their marriage is not recognized in their home state. Read in browser »
Jun 10, 2014 07:00 am FENTON, Mich. -- The Fenton City Council has approved an ordinance that bans discrimination against people based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. The ordinance allows the city manager to investigate and attempt to come to an agreement "terminating discrimination or reverse the effects of past discrimination." Read in browser »
Jun 10, 2014 07:00 am DANVILLE, Ky. -- The Danville, Ky., City Commission has approved an LGBT rights ordinance, though it includes an exemption for religious organizations. Officials voted 4-1 on Monday in favor of the ordinance that makes it illegal to discriminate based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Jun 10, 2014 06:30 am MADISON, Wis. -- It looks like a federal appeals court won't rule on whether to halt same-sex marriages in Wisconsin until at least Wednesday. Republican Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen has asked the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals to issue an emergency stay to halt same-sex marriages while he appeals. Read in browser »
