Luxembourg legislature votes to legalize same-sex marriage, adoption

LuxembourgLuxembourg's legislature voted Wednesday to legalize same-sex marriage and adoption, making the tiny country the eleventh in Europe to allow marriage equality for same-sex couples. The measure passed in the Chamber of Deputies by a vote of 56-4 after a petition by opponents failed to gain the required 4,500 signatures.

U.S. District Judge John E. Jones III issued his decision Wednesday on the request by Schuylkill County Orphans Court Clerk Theresa Santai-Gaffney.

Nashville approves domestic partner benefits for city, county workers

Nashville, Tenn.NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Nashville Metropolitan Council on Tuesday voted to offer health insurance and pension benefits to the same-sex domestic partners of city/county "Metro" workers. The policy change applies to workers employed by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, a city-county consolidated government.
