to the struggle of Latelec Fouchana (fr) [machine translation]

Sonia Dridi Jebali and Monia are working in Latelec-Fouchana company from Tunisia
subsidiary of Latécoère, French multinational that provides the world's major aircraft
manufacturers such as Airbus and Dassault equipment. ---- When Latécoère-Latelec was
relocated in 2005 part of its production of wiring in the suburbs of Tunis, it hoped to
find a skilled workforce docile and sensible, as feminine. It wanted to keep as a quality
requirement, while significantly reducing manufacturing costs through monthly salary of
about 150 euros. ---- But Latécoère-Latelec encountered in the determination of
employee-es which began to rebel against the difficult working conditions, forced overtime
and unpaid, sexual harassment and sexist slurs. They then created a union UGTT (Tunisian
General Labour Union).

The workers received wage increases, recognition of their rights to leave, increased
respect. This was too much for leaders who organized a lockout, temporarily transferring
production in France. Their aim is to create competition between employees and employees
of North South. In September 2012, the plant had been closed for an indefinite period and
Latécoère began to empty the plant of its workforce. 200 temporary posts had been removed
between October 2012 and March 2013 and 10 workers including union delegates were dismissed.

The direction of LATelec conceded in March 2014 a first step: part of workers were
reinstated but four remained dismissed, among them the two stewards UGTT Monia and Sonia
Dridi Jebali.

Not resigned to see the Tunisian labor law and violated by the multinational, Houda and
Sonia began June 19, 2014 a 27-day hunger strike to all unfairly dismissed workers to be
reinstated. July 15, 2014, after about two years of struggle, they get the reinstatement
of two delegates, Houda. The company is closed for vacation the day after the signing of
the agreement and they will not reinstated until 18 August. Sonia and Monia, both UGTT
delegates whose reinstatement was not obtained, have affected 84 monthly installments (7
years of wages) that were promised to them, or 54,516 dinars (23,475 euros).

Sonia and Monia talk about the course of this struggle. Subject achieved by issuing news
of struggles FPP.

A first issue on this subject was released July 14, 2014 (Social Situation in Tunisia)
