- Anti-fascism, The new faces of the reaction: "conformist" and
"liberalism" in alternative medium (fr, it, pt) [machine translation]
In periods of social withdrawal and great ideological confusion such as the one we live
in, the reactionary discourse comeback in defense of social relations based on domination,
oppression and exploitation. ---- The defense of the hierarchical social order and
existing inequalities, strengthening social oppression reports sometimes takes unexpected
forms, sometimes hiding behind a "revolutionary" rhetoric, "alternative", "rebel",
"critical" and "non-conformist". Unexpected in appearance only, as we will see that in the
history of the labor movement, such dynamics are not new, and that the militant · e · s
revolutionaries have had to deal with regularly. ---- The "alternative" reaction
"antitechnologique" ---- After two years of breaking lesbophobic, homophobic and
transphobic around the 'demonstration for all ", we have seen thus shows a series of texts
violently taking the feminist movement, LGBT movements, from authors claiming" militants
revolutionary, "" Marxist "or" libertarian "," militant · e · s antitechnologiques ".
The feminist movement and LGBT movements are accused, collage, to be the Trojans of
liberal ideology, enslavement and commodification of life through technology, to promote a
eugenic logic, to serve "diversion" to repel operated · e · s of the class struggle.
Presented as "lobbyists" who want to impose their vision of individualistic world, selfish
and liberal society, and enjoying powerful contacts within the capitalist class, feminist
and LGBT movements are so violently attacked by authors such as PMO Alexis Escudero,
Jacques and Jean-Claude Wajnsztejn Michéa.
These authors found echoes in progressive circles as in a libertarian milieu, because
their works are disseminated in bookshops "libertarian" or "alternative" and that they are
encouraged, promoted and defended in "libertarian" rooms or "alternative" . For some, this
violent charge against the feminist and LGBT is accompanied by a charge against
anti-racist and anti-fascist movements, accused each other as to act as "thought police"
and "divert of the class struggle. "
The revival of an old theme: the working class against the oppressed minorities · e · s
This rhetoric is not new in the workers' movement. Already at times of the Dreyfus affair,
a fringe of the labor movement refuses any fight against antisemitism considering that
this is a struggle that aims to remove the working class and the socialist movement of the
class struggle . Either because they are impregnated with anti-Semitic prejudices, or
because they believe that this struggle is a Trojan horse of the bourgeoisie to bring the
field of defense of bourgeois republican liberalism or often both at the same time. This
ideological axis between 'working class oppressed minorities "will become a mobilizing
theme of the National Socialist current, and later fascism.
The fact that an author like Michéa considers the perversion of socialism in France, the
decline of its revolutionary and classist orientation, as having its origin in the Dreyfus
affair, is not a chance.
A mythical vision of the working class and the oppressed classes
This type of discourse is based on a completely mythical vision of the working class, and
more generally of the proletariat, reduced, as appropriate, to male workers, white,
heterosexual, Christian culture. It is based on the negation of all other components of
the proletariat, their invisibility or denial of specific physical conditions experienced
by these categories oppressed · e · s, which combines oppression and capitalist
exploitation and racist oppression, sexist, lesbophobic, homophobic and transphobic .
By denying the concrete material situation of women, LGBT people racialized · e · s, the
proponents of these speeches can do so by inversion of reality and present of oppressed
groups for several reasons (for their position in the social relations capitalist, racist
and patriarchal) as "dominant" groups, "imposing their claim."
Since these groups are presented as organized in "lobbies" powerful as they are generally
marginalized from political decision-making spaces, economic and social. While they are
the direct target of physical, psychological, justified by the dominant ideology.
This type of speech is not only the negation of the concrete oppression of women, LGBT
people racialized · e · s, but participate in invisibiliser women, LGBT people and
racialized · e · s of the proletariat. It prevents the unification of the proletariat face
to the bourgeoisie by reinforcing the division of it, but also by strengthening specific
oppressions systems, if they are separate and independent of the capitalist systems
converge with it BECAUSE they contribute to the overall strengthening of hierarchical
social relations.
alternative liberalism, libertarian liberalism and oppression
When this type of speech is under attack for what it is, a vector of ideologies justifying
the oppression of concrete social groups, its authors and supporters adopt defense
strategies that can be identified as relying on liberal ideology and definition of freedom
as that of the "fox in the henhouse."
The first focus of this strategy is to justify the distribution of a reactionary speech on
behalf of the sacrosanct "freedom of expression" and from this position to castigate those
who oppose or criticize it the giving additional platform to already ubiquitous in public
space discourse as they are worn by the dominant ideology as "censors", the "Stalinist" or
"fascist."
This liberal approach finds support in a misguided definition of freedom, which is
actually in terms concrete than the "freedom" of the dominant · e · s to crush dominated ·
e · s.
It is the discourse used by racists to justify the distribution of their speech and
present anti-racist as the proponents of the "thought police", as it is the discourse used
by masculinist the lesbophobic, homophobic and transphobic presenting feminist and
activist · e · s LGBT as "Stalinist" imposing their ideas.
Rather than defending "freedom of expression" abstract, it seems more relevant we defend
free criticism by the oppressed · e · s oppressive institutions whatsoever to defend the
concrete possibility for oppressed · e · s to speak face to the omnipresence of the
discourse that justifies their oppressors crash. It is this materialistic approach, not
idealistic, freedom that allows us to beat the diversion Orwellian speech forged in social
emancipation struggles into a justification of the dominant order.
Violence and oppression in the "family" policy
The second focus of this strategy is based on what might be called a concept "familly" of
political action. That of considering a thought, speech, under the pretext that they are
bound by a member of the same "family" policy, recognized for his contributions on other
subjects, can not be described as reactionary, even if it leads to justify and increase
the crash of an oppressed group. This is an avatar of "magical thinking": according to
this approach, merely be defined as "libertarian", "revolutionary", give speeches usually
held by reactionary patented a completely different dimension, progressive, libertarian,
revolutionary. Such an approach simply denies the very possibility of the influence of the
dominant ideology of the movements, groups, organizations, "community" defined as
progressive, alternative or "revolutionary". A speech, held by a political opponent
identified arouse denunciation and condemnation, suddenly becomes, when held by a member
of the "political family", a courageous willingness to "debate" away from the "politically
correct ". This approach allowed to analyze the discourse on the basis of their actual
effect, but also makes any reasoned critique calling this speech for what it is, since it
is immediately disqualified as an avatar of the "politically correct" and the "thought
police".
For us the emancipatory character of a discourse depends on its concrete positive effect
on all the oppressed · e · s and operated · e · s on its ability to develop solidarity
among oppressed · e · s, breaking the hierarchical social order and the various systems of
domination, not a posture "rebel", "maverick." We reject the liberal conception of the
"debate" that denies the social reality in a society where ideologies justifying the
domination and oppression already have an omnipresence through the mass media, we reject
the tendency to give them a forum more in the name of "freedom of expression" and
"rejection of censorship." Since this trend back in fact to deprive oppressed groups · e ·
s of the few spaces available to them to defend their interests to organize and fight to
change society in an egalitarian way.
