With Martin McGuinness resigning as Deputy First Minister and Sinn Fein declining to
nominate a deputy first miniter an election is almost certainly going to be called and the
electoral circus will once again come to town. ---- Please excuse this writer's election
fatigue - with this being the third election in 12 months on this island - as I begin this
short post off with a well used phrase: "Never be deceived that the rich will allow you to
vote away their wealth". ---- The Green and Orange politics of the north almost guarantees
us that we will be returned with a Sinn Féin - DUP government, meaning that, yep you
guessed it(!), if voting changed anything here it would be illegal. ---- Stormont isn't
set up to deliver change, it's set up to guarantee business as usual for the rich and
scrapings for the poor. Voting creates the illusion of change while really reinforcing the
same old tired structures.

Our dreams are bigger than their ballot box. As anarchists we don't believe you can vote
the revolution in; Syriza is a very real recent example of this. Neo-liberalism has
factored elections into its systems and processes, the state's tools will never bring the
state down.

Instead we argue, and we fight for a complete hollowing out of the current system. For a
bottom-up revolution founded upon the principals of solidarity, mutual aid, and direct
democracy with the elimination of all forms of oppression as the key goal.

We will be expanding more on some of the topics and issues raised within this post over
the coming weeks.

An injury to one is an injury to all - a victory for one is a victory for all.

After numerous failed attempts by fascists of our city to call concentration, the
neo-emfanistheisa "Nationalist Youth of Thessaloniki" calls in fascist concentration on
21/01/2017 at the junction of Langada road of Agios Dimitrios. ---- The descendants of
tagmatasfaliton that burned Hortiatis, the Oil Merchant and other black marketers who have
become rich on the back of the multinational proletariat and the Jewish community of the
city, those who have always been the loyal dog of the bosses, they once fortified the
building of YMCA fearing the punisher hand rebel, they are not currently able neither the
weight of their choices to take. ---- Today, more strongly than ever, anti-fascism is act
on the road. ---- The oppressed of this world and we will always be at the forefront of
the fight against racism and fascism, against the hatred for life.

So this is the anti-fascists and antifascist, employees / s, unemployed / s, immigrants /

On the 20th of January, the FN came to Mass in Fougeres. Do not worry everyone will have
for his rank: the foreigners, the precarious ones who lack work are then qualified as
"assisted" ... Answer them by our mobilization and our solidarities, all in the street on
the 20th January! ---- The FN is as a party "anti-system" and yet the "dynasty Lepen" is
fully integrated: large fortune, position of elected officials and the shenanigans that go
with ... ---- Like the others, they want power, as the others lie to have it, worse than
others, they rise the poor against each other: the deserving ones and those who are not,
the foreigners and the French, ... ---- The problem is not what affects the precarious,
but the unequal distribution of wealth when 10% of the richest own 48% of the wealth
(Insee), distributed there would be enough for all!

FOUGÈRES

Friday, January 20, 2017, at 19h
Place Aristide Briant

The event on social networks, to join and spread widely!

Page of Alternative Libertaire Fougères on social networks

To do this, Alternative Libertaire defends the construction of counter-powers to impose
the distribution of power and wealth, the only answer according to us that would allow the
precarious to live decently!

Finally, the FN, through G. Pennelle, wants to give Fougeres the image of a city acquired
at the FN. That is why they organize a large meeting there. This picture is not the one we
have of the city. The various collectives of inhabitants and active associations prove the
local dynamism in order to make live the solidarity among all, despite the speeches of
fear and the absence of commitment of the public authorities.

Since we refuse the idea that the extreme right is Fougeres, we call with other
organizations to a demonstration on January 20 at 19:00 place aristide Briand!

The strike of November-December 1995 remains an example, sometimes mythical, of social
movement in which the railwaymen and the railwaymen took a preponderant place. But that of
December-January 1986/87 was undoubtedly more important, by the renewal that it brought
and by its consequences in the trade union practices. ---- If the 1995 strike had existed,
it was because the movement of 1986/87 prepared it, through all that it carried and found
itself at the heart of the social movement during the following decade. "As a result of
years of construction by CFDT and sometimes CGT militant teams, the strike of December
1986-January 1987 marks an important turning point in terms of democracy in the struggle
for trade union democracy by the place conquered by general assemblies. It is also a break
with the litany of square strikes without prospects, a return to direct action by the
occupation of roads and work premises, the establishment of a basic control over
negotiations, Coordination, etc. " [1].

The movement that paralyzed the SNCF for almost a month is part of the direct result of
the strike and demonstrations against the Devaquet bill. Many trade union teams relayed
information about the movement and took part in the demonstrations; A not insignificant
part of the railway population was there all the more because it had something in common
with students: young people. The period 1973/83 saw a very strong renewal of SNCF staff.

Strike before the strike

The long inter-categorical strike is the direct result of a movement begun two weeks ago
by SNCF salesmen and sellers. On the initiative of the stations of agents from Paris
Saint-Lazare and Paris-Lyon, where the CFDT union teams[2]are particularly active, they
and have built a strong movement, renewable and original: the strike of booking, The
employers' decision to abolish them. The reservation, which became mandatory for the TGV
but still optional for the other trains, was a different service from the "train ticket"
itself. It was only for the latter that the commercial agents used the computer system, to
which this indemnity was linked. Hence the idea: "because management wants to remove us
before pay, we do not reservation" ; Unlawful action but whose massive nature allowed to
postpone threats of punishment and ... to win the maintenance of the seizure allowance for
(at least) 30 more years. During two weeks, the commercial agents meet every day during a
general assembly held over an hour strike, decide actions complementary to their "strike
of the resas", choose and mandate the delegations which meet the management, coordinate
directly of Station to station: they exercise trade union and workers' democracy on a
daily basis. In many areas, the movement will expand to some other services, also involved
in the seizure of compensation[3]. As of 17 December, the CGT called for the cessation of
the strike in several stations, a position confirmed by a federal leaflet l8; On the
contrary, during the same period, GAs of sellers and sellers supported by the local CFDT
unions, decided to move from the strike of reservations to the total strike. Because
history is also built on the side of the drivers of Paris North ...

The union is the tool for workers ...

At the beginning of December, a group of driving agents from Paris-Nord launched a
petition, taking up a demanding book rooted in reality and highlighting the will to go on
strike to make it come to fruition. All trade union federations are invited to come and
discuss this initiative at a general meeting. Only the CFDT federation will be present.
Michel Desmars[4]takes commitment, not only to support the regional approach but the boost
in the relaying to all local public CFDT, prompting the organization of General Meetings
in all deposits as soon as The strike will have started in Paris-Nord. Claims[5]are
nothing revolutionary, what is more is that their suitability think the vast majority of
railway workers and railway workers on the one hand, the dynamic use made CFDT Railwaymen
on the other hand.

On December 18, the strike began in Paris Nord, the action spread the same day over the
entire North network. On the 19th, the depots of Paris Sud Est, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux
and Toulouse went on strike. On the morning of the 20th, 70 out of 94 deposits were on
strike; In the evening, 93. The extension to other sectors begins and generalizes as of
Monday 22. Management plays the division, multiplies the meetings to reconcile the support
of some federations (CFTC, FO, FMC, CGC) , Without responding to the demands of the
strikers whose AGs repel these provocations. December 29 marks the strongest point of the
strike; From then on, the movement will be strengthened in the institutions where it was
not yet a majority, but will not touch the few services which did not really enter into
action. During three weeks, the SNCF management will call on the so-called forces of the
order, to evacuate the tracks, to disperse pickets, to put an end to occupations of
workplaces.

Basically, a democratic and unitary practice

Throughout the movement, the CFDT is at the initiative, while promoting democracy and the
role of general assemblies. The federation circulates information in real time, both on
the reality of the strike and on negotiations, local teams defend the primacy of general
assemblies, often against the CGT, sometimes against political groups that claim to
dictate to the strikers the march to be continued. It is not a long river in quiet in the
CFDT: the tensions are strong with the General Federation of Transport and Equipment which
defends a more moderate line and will try to impose it, via the press, over the Federal
branch; When confederation, at the beginning of January, it will publicly denounce the
continuation of the strike. The role of CFDT Cheminots, which includes many revolutionary
activists, was very important. It has its roots in the activity that has been going on for
many years, involving many local struggles, local, regional and national trade union
structures, inter-union groupings and opposition within the CFDT. But the strike of
1986/87 also results from unitary dynamics at the base. Jaques Hais, one of the organizers
of the CFDT union in the Rouen region, testified: A unitary tradition existed for a long
time on the Rouen conurbation, meetings, box ballots, actions were regularly carried out
by railway workers unionized at the CGT, CFDT or non-unionized. This generation did not
recognize itself in trade unionism as it was, it refused the trade union division as well
as the categorial divisions.

In 1975 about thirty railwaymen created a modest 4-page bulletin "La Basse Tonne"; Shortly
afterwards, the Unitary Committee for the Mobilization of Railwaymen (CUMC) is created; It
advocates struggle other than by repeated 24-hour strikes and affirms the need for broad
union unity; The CUMC is expressed in leaflets and petitions, its audience is about 500
people on the Rouen conurbation. The 3rd attempt at unitary regrouping at the base will be
around the newspaper "Rail Bol". Sold in 500 copies, it will be published from May 1985
until mid-1986. The same people are impelling support actions at the international level:
support for Solidarnosc, support for Nicaragua, support for English minors, etc. "

The CGT fights the strike and then its self-organization

The CGT federation opposes the renewable strike; To avoid the junction, she called on
commercial agents to stop the move just before the start of the strike of the drivers.
Especially, during the first days, it organizes anti-strike pickets in several depots and
hinders any extension to other categories. Exceeded by the dynamic momentum, it must
ultimately support the movement, but multiplies warnings on "the dangers of the strike at
the time of the holiday season" . When coordination is created, instead of leading the
debate, pointing out inadequacies, contradictions or even manipulations, the CGT
federation is content to denounce them on principle. In many places, CGT activists are
disconcerted by the practice of daily general assemblies: while it is a lively,
interactive, creative place, they are content to read the federal communiqué of the day
and s 'Arc-bout on positions sometimes totally foreign to the participants and
participants in the general assemblies. The CGT will later take stock of this strike,
learn from it, but this important episode is one of the elements that explain why the
choice of this organization was impossible for the thousands of railwaymen and railroaders
leaving the CFDT a few years later, in January 1996.

Coordinations

For the majority of the strikers, it was the general assemblies that decided and it was up
to the trade union federations to coordinate the struggle. In Normandy, Rhône-Alpes,
Midi-Pyrénées and Auvergne, local strike committees are organized on a regional scale. But
two national coordinations are put in place: one concerning the agents of conduct,
following the call of the strikers of Paris North; The other, inter-categorical, based on
the Paris-Sud-Ouest region. The CGT denounces both. Within the CFDT, inter-categorical
coordination is a controversial subject: the choice of its leaders, CFDT officials in
Paris-Sud-Ouest, to denounce "unions" is for many, as well as the attitude of activists
and Militants of Lutte Ouvrière who invest this national coordination without the mandate
of their general assembly. The division on this subject will also affect the libertarian
movement: the UTCL militants, strongly involved in the CFDT federation, are denounced by
those of the OCL and the FA. If they were mediated and were undoubtedly one of the facets
of the search for self-organization of the movement, coordination was not the decisive
element: it was the general assemblies, organized daily and organized by working groups,
which Played this role. Nevertheless, the phenomenon marked many struggles of the years
that followed: in education, in health, until the coordination of the "yellow trucks" of
the post which will lead to the creation of South PTT.

End of strike

On the evening of December 31st, the battle against the new wage grid project was won; The
other claims are not satisfied. The strike is renewed. New achievements, insufficient, are
gathered on January 8th. The strike continues, but fatigue, divisions, interprofessional
weaknesses will eventually prevail. The recovery decided at the Chambéry depot on the 9th,
marks the beginning of the ebb; but this is only the 14 that the national strike actually
ends[6]. The Employer Wage Grid project was withdrawn; The one then in force remained so
until the negotiation of a new one, applicable on 1 January 1992 (still in operation
today). The seizure allowance is maintained, its application is extended, a new indemnity
is created for salesmen and women who do not work on computers. Many articles of labor
regulations are improved.

20 years later, Jean-Michel Dauvel who in 1986 worked in Sotteville depot and was
moderator of the CFDT union and the national coordination of conduct of agents, summed up:
"What will remain in the imaginary railroad, more than the The idea of victory is the
conviction of a renewed pride: in the long run, we have equaled and surpassed our
ancestors in the great strike of 1920. We have known against government and management, in
spite of certain union federations, Build a control tool from bottom to top. This model
will be taken up during the struggles of teachers in 1987, then nurses in 1988. Twenty
years later, the unions have (somewhat) evolved, the general assemblies have become
unavoidable. For all that, revolutionary trade unionists still have to fight for the
maximum of autonomy and initiative at the base. They still have to promote the need for a
permanent organization (it is called a trade union) managed from the bottom up. They still
have to struggle for the self-management of struggles, "gymnastics" prior to the taking
over of the working tool, a prelude to the self-management of the whole society! " . 10
more years have passed, the observation and the hopes remain.
