The memory of our martyrs we build every day in our battle trenches! International Day of
workers to mark the resistance of the working class of yesterday and today! ---- The
conjuncture places strong blows to the underdogs, criminalization, poverty and
precariousness of living conditions; for the upper classes, robbery of the money of the
people, exploitation and commodification of basic necessities, justice and repression for
the maintenance of privileges and riches. ---- In order to face and build alternatives, it
is necessary to build capacity for organization, rooting of popular power, strengthening
of work and basic democracy, class solidarity and direct action. ---- We invite all of you
to come together in the anarchist act of May 1! It is time to concentrate forces, draw
horizons and sow socialism with freedom!

Despite the state of siege imposed by the government, a crowd of 15,000 to 20,000 people
has succeeded, at all costs, in reaching different points of the ZAD on Sunday. This
afternoon new groups are arriving all the time. Since this morning, the state has done
everything possible to break this great wave of solidarity: there are road blocks and
checkpoints everywhere; with the policemen of the same ones asking the drivers not to try
to go to the solidary meeting. This is the first time that the state tries to avoid a
large demonstration of this kind in the ZAD and to calm the tension. But here the
collective spirit has not been intimidated by it: supporters of the ZAD know the trails
and fields, and have been moving in groups to avoid the police blockades.
At 2:00 in the afternoon there was a solemn moment at Bellevue's farm. The thousands of
sticks and canes planted on October 8, 2016 were unearthed from the ground. We made the
solemn promise to come and pick them up if the ZAD ever received a new attack. That moment
has arrived!
People of all ages have set out along Le Chemin de Suez, escorting a large wooden frame
that is being transported by a convoy of tractors. This beautiful construction was created
this week with wood from the ZAD, under the Hangar de l'Avenir[the "granary of the
future"]by dozens of carpenters. For the time being he is mounted in Wardine's field, with
a view to moving it later. Hundreds of people carry pieces of wooden constructions by
hand. It was in this same field in 2012, at the time of the Manifestation of Reoccupation,
that the human chains had transported masses of materials to build a village in La
Chataigne[the 'Castaño Tree'].
Today, hundreds of sticks and sticks were planted immediately around the construction site
to protect this new building, a market and a meeting space that was initially planned to
be taken directly to the Gourbi to replace the communal area that was destroyed[by the
police]. Thursday 1. Meanwhile, other large groups of protesters, with sticks in hand,
have overflowed the police operation on the D81 road, and have crossed the road to go
east, to the prohibited area, which has been occupied since this morning by columns of
gendarmes. A mobile construction has been carried through the fields. Meanwhile, more than
a hundred people have been detained since this morning at La Grée farm. The supporters are
trying to reach them. We are informed that the prefect[local representative of the
state]has reached the crossroads of Saulce. After the solid demonstration yesterday of
more than 10,000 people in Nantes, in which trade unionists, students and supporters of
the ZAD participated,
Especially because the solidarity actions of this weekend continue in many cities in
France and around the world.
The ZAD has been hurt, but it is always magical!
Shortly we will send an update on the events of this afternoon
For more information, check the periodic updates on the ZAD website: Zone à defende -

1. The Zadistas who tried to reach Gourbi were attacked by the police and dispersed.

In spite of the maneuvers of the employers, the judicial pressures and the often very
difficult conditions of occupation, the workers and the workers gained their
regularization in the seven companies occupied in Île-de-France. Not without internal
debates, the CGT realized a beautiful demonstration of solidarity. ---- Launched on
February 12, strikes with occupation in seven companies, for the regularization of workers
and undocumented workers, culminated on March 23. ---- The fight took place under very
different conditions in several departments of Île-de-France, with coordination ensured
very effectively by the collective migrant CGT. The strikers work in a wide range of
sectors: cleaning (STLG and Sepur), transport (Chronopost and GLS), construction (Défi
Technology), catering (Event Thaï), Livre (France-Routage) ... Some are on permanent
contracts, the most are acting. In this second case, temp boxes have sought to discard the
order and vice versa, which obviously complicated the fight. The conditions of occupation
have been difficult, especially with the cold of recent weeks. They turned to the virtual
sequestration of the strikers in a case where the security guards threatened them:!
In most cases, it was the local CGT unions that provided a regular and sometimes permanent
presence to support the strikers and help with their supplies. The CGT book trade union
has also invested a lot of activists on the picket of a company in its field. The local
union of Roissy-Airport was sentenced in summary to 40 000 euros of fine !
Several inter-stake solidarity rallies were organized as well as the investment of an
interim agency. Although it is unfortunate that the group rejected the idea of
participating in the anti-racist demonstration of March 17, the procession of strikers in
the March 22 demonstration was very noticed.
Depending on their geographical location, some pickets have multiplied actions in the city
to publicize the conflict and collect money. A battalion of activists was formed in one
month !
For the CGT, this conflict was an opportunity to set back a priori among the workers of
the sites concerned, including among the union members. Although the Secretary General of
the CGT, Philippe Martinez, has moved in person on pickets, the debate has sometimes
remained difficult in some directions of local unions and departmental unions that have
not all played the game with the same energy. Some regretted that this conflict is taking
up too much strength and finances in the middle of the preparation phase of March 22nd.
Restoring their dignity to the 160 strikers by taking them out of hiding, however, has no
price !

of pentecost on the camping Tot Vrijheidsbezinning in Appelscha. It is a coming together
for anarchists and everybody who is inspired by anarchism. The weekend will be full of
workshops, lectures and discussions about anarchism and social struggle. There is also a
special program for children and a cultural program in the evenings. The festival has been
the place to be for anarchists to converge for over 80 years. Don't wanna fall behind?
Come join us in the weekend of May 19 and 20! ---- What will you see this year? ----
Stands from all your favourite anarchist bookshops and distro's. A lot of practical
workshops about climbing, lock picking and self defence. Various talks about how to
organise in small towns, the far-right movement and a workshop on how to give workshops.
The Pinksterlanddagen are full of interesting activities and it is a perfect place for the
self-organisation of people who want to share their knowledge and skills. Next to
workshops, there are also a lot of other fun things to do. There is a walk through the
forest, people are going to write letters to anarchist prisoners and you can sing along
during the campfire! On the camping alcohol is prohibited and all the food will be
vegan.
If you think there is something missing in the program, there is a DIY-tent. With this we
want to encourage people claim the space to organise their own events at the festival.

At dawn Friday (06/04), Hamilton police invaded a house associated with some of those
involved with the organization of the Hamilton Anarchist Book Fair. The door was kicked
in, a grenade light was thrown into the house, and a full SWAT team entered. With the
assault rifles cocked, the SWAT team began to pull everyone out of bed, some of whom were
naked and, with one exception, handcuffed everyone. Three people were arrested and one
person was arrested. Cedar, a member of The Tower, and our dear friend, was arrested and
currently remains in custody. ---- Those who were not arrested were forced to wait outside
for about five hours, while police "searched" the house. Similar to the fascists who
attacked the Tower last month, the police completely destroyed space and even moved the
bookshelves. All three floors of the house and many things were damaged, including a
collection of framed feminist cards that were broken into several pieces and thrown into
the bathroom. The cops are misogynist pigs, pure and simple, without exception. A long
list of items were seized, including all electronics (telephones, computers, cameras,
external hard drives, etc.), books, posters, zines and a large random amount of documents
(articles from academic journals, translated texts from a book, handwritten notes,
Regarding his arrest, Cedar is facing charges of conspiracy against the so-called Street
Riot[a revolt on Locke Street, 03/03/2018]. We have no desire to engage with the politics
of innocence. The concept of innocence and its indirect criminality obscure rather than
illuminate - no one is innocent and the most "criminal" between us runs the economy and
government. Moreover, these notions perpetuate the logic of a colonial legal system rooted
in white supremacy. That said, it is worth noting that the conspiracy charges are
notoriously dubious and fragile, and have a legacy of being used as a tool of political
persecution. They are an act of desperation meant to launch a wide net and frighten
people. Such charges are not a matter of engaging in a particular activity,
The Tower is an openly anarchist project which, from the outset, has promoted ideals of
mutual aid and solidarity, equality and autonomy of the community, as well as direct
action, class warfare and resistance. Our policy has always included both gardens and
protests. We want to see people building beautiful liberation alternatives as much as we
want to see people attacking structures of domination. Nothing about this will change, and
despite the recent challenges, our project will continue to drive those ideas. We still
have no tears for Locke Street, and we still do not support the activities that took place
last month. These are actions that can spur conversations that no one wants to have (in
this case, intensifying gentrification across the city), and we see that as positive.
As things continue to unfold, it is important for people to remember that it is never OK
to cooperate with the police - do not talk to them and do not share any information (no
matter how big or small) with them. It is not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing with
particular tactics, but of refusing to take actions that help facilitate violence and
repression of the state. In addition to the discussions about Locke Street, local media
have been dominated by stories of police corruption, misconduct, brutality and, most
recently, murder. Less than a week ago, Hamilton police shot and killed Quinn MacDougall,
a 19-year-old unarmed boy who had called 911 for help. Cops are not and never will be our
allies. We gain security and strength by uniting and remaining silent.
