Dear friends,
I'm on my way to Swaziland* right now to join the country's very first Pride. I'm so proud of All Out members, who donated to help make Swaziland Pride happen.
Ever since the Stonewall Riots in 1969, our community has been fighting for these opportunities – the right to come together in strength, resilience, and visibility. Many are still fighting.
Like activists in Mauritius, where just a few weeks ago an armed mob showed up at Pride, shut down the march, and sent the organisers death threats. Or in Istanbul, where Pride has been repeatedly shut down by officials and Pride-goers attacked with rubber bullets. And in Swaziland, where a local newspaper described the LGBT+ community as a "danger to children" and condemned the upcoming Pride event.
Now more than ever, we need to support the fight for Pride around the world.
With a small, monthly donation, you can help bring Pride to more countries like Swaziland, where we'll work side by side with activists to lift up their fight.
With your help, we can honour their legacy and continue to change history, together.
My heart is filled with joy as I make my way to Swaziland's first ever Pride celebration. But so many other people in the LGBT+ community are still waiting for that day.
From Bulgaria to Turkey, Russia to Uganda, with your help we can support brave activists around the world as they fight for their right to celebrate Pride.
Thanks for going All Out,
Matt Beard, Executive Director
*The country was recently renamed the Kingdom of Eswatini
