" Despite the promising negotiations on the future of the Clinic, the SIA press has 
decided to vacate under the pressure of the police. When the new leadership of SŽDC with 
us began to act openly in the autumn, we welcomed this opportunity and came together on a 
specific way to preserve the social center and solve the future of the house for mutual 
satisfaction. The support of the continuation of the social center was also expressed by 
some city leaders. Nevertheless, the Bureau decided to cleanse us with the help of the 
bailiff. The cleansing of the clinic makes no sense because during the meeting it was 
shown that SŽDC does not need the house and even threatens to demolish it, " writes the 
team of the Autonomous Social Center of the Clinic. ---- Members and members of the 
Anarchist Federation of Clinics have been supporting us from the very beginning, and our 
support, of course, continues. Therefore, we encourage all readers and readers to attend a 
joint breakfast ceremony that will be held at the Clinic on Thursday 10 January 2019 in 
the morning. A similar situation has occurred several times, so we can recommend warm

decision, even allegedly under the pressure of the police.

The clinic recently celebrated its fourth birthday - it is up to us if the fifth time is

In Kanaky, whose economy is heavily dependent on nickel mining, there has been an 
unprecedented conflict between a group of Kanak youths in the mining industry ... and 
Kanak managers who manage the North Province of the island. . This fight for the 
protection of the environment is also marked by aspirations for more social justice by a 
youth experiencing massive unemployment. ---- The Grande Terre - main island of Kanaky - 
is a true mountain of ni¬ckel. One third of its surface is overflowing. As a result, the 
nickel mining industry accounts for 18% of local GDP [1]and 90% of the territory's 
exports. Kanaky also has the second largest coral reef in the world, a UNESCO World 
Heritage Site. ---- The assembly of the North Province, led by Kanak independence 
activists, initiated the construction of the Koniambo metallurgical plant. In the district 
of Kouaoua, located on the east coast, a long furrow of 11 km, the Serpentine, has been 
traced to transport the ore to the coast. The opening of three new deposits is in preparation.

Many problems of damage to biodiversity are caused by mining activity and rubble carried 
by the mine gradually fill the bed of the river, resulting in lower water levels and 
rarefaction of black salmon, hake and shrimp. This has immediate consequences for Kanak 
tribes who practice subsistence hunting and fishing.

On August 6, about 60 young Kanak from neighboring tribes decided to occupy access to the 
mine. A few days later, the Société Le Nickel (SLN) closed the mine, considering that the 
safety of its employees was no longer ensured because of the fires that had targeted the 
Serpentine [2].

At the end of October, the young activists were still stationed at the entrance of the 
site, between makeshift tents and carriages of carriages. But the first two months of 
blocking cost the SLN 11 million euros. The gendarmes proceeded with the evacuation, in 
accordance with the expulsion order of the Nouméa Court of First Instance [3].

A revolt marked by the social question
This new conflict upsets many local balances. " This is the first time we see young people 
rise up against the old customary, " says Linda, a SNL technician who joined the group. 
She points out that over the course of the mediation meetings, the gap has widened between 
generations: " Young people think they have been betrayed by the old and the old require 
the respect of young people, " she continues, aiming the agreement with the SLN without 
obtaining the consent of all the tribes [4].

This conflict does not call into question the very principle of nickel mining. But this 
revolt is marked by the social question. In Kouaoua, the members of the collective aspire 
to more social justice. " The mine has to invest in development.[Kouaoua is]a dormitory 
city " [5]. A struggle that is part of a convergence of social and ecological struggles.

(MCC, the federal prison in downtown Manhattan); Pearl Street, between Cardinal Hayes 
Place and Park Row (J to Chambers Street or 4/5/6/ to City Hall) ---- BRING: Noisemakers, 
air horns, drums, anything that is loud! ---- On the noisiest night of the year in New 
York City, come help us remind folks locked up that they are not alone. NYC Anarchist 
Black Cross, in response to an international call for noise demonstrations outside of 
prisons, is asking folks to join us outside of the Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) 
in lower Manhattan. Come, not to appeal to authority, speak truth to power, or any other 
contrivance, but rather to stand arm in arm with comrades and show direct solidarity to 
those on the other side of the wall.

The state, writ large, is targeting anarchists all across the United States and abroad. 
This will be both protest and celebration. To keep the cold at bay, comrades from MACC 
will be on hand with cookies and hot cocoa to keep the vocal cords nice and warm.
