These Penguins' Home is For Sale, and Their Future is Uncertain. Sign to Make Sure Their Island Becomes a Wildlife Sanctuary! Sign Now Dear friends, Pebble Island is one of the larger offshore islands of the Falklands. Currently, it's privately owned and home to a whole host of amazing wildlife, including sea lions, sheep, cattle and, most importantly, thousands of penguins from several species including Macaroni, Gentoo and Magellanic. But that could all change if we don't take action right now. The family that owns Pebble Island wants to sell. To make sure that the animals living there don't lose their homes to commercial development and environmental destruction, we need to make sure that Pebble Island is sold to the government. The wildlife on Pebble Island is truly remarkable. In fact, a total of 42 species of birds breed natively on the island making it an International Bird and Biodiversity Area. That designation suggests it is a place that should be protected at all costs.
