Message: 1
Venezuela is once again in the spotlight and at the center of the debates. Rimbombantes
statements in all the media of various actors condemning the government of Maduro, some
recognizing Guaidó as President, others distancing themselves from both, as if everything
that is at stake in Venezuela right now, was resolved in the recognition or not of a
determined government. The subject is much more in depth, and as we have already addressed
in other occasions, we will try here to make a specific conjunctural analysis whose plot
is much more complex. An analysis that we carry out with the maximum possible rigor but
always standing in our Anarchist and Specifist conception, as part of the Latin American
peoples that resist every day all the structures of the capitalist system and of all
imperialist policies, especially that of North American imperialism, present for almost
two centuries in our region. With its monroism and its pretense that its backyard is Latin
America.
We have that on January 10 assumed a new term of government Nicolás Maduro. In the
previous weeks the Lima Group (a group created and composed of 12 countries in the region
for the sole purpose of overthrowing the Maduro government) undertook an active campaign
against what they consider to be a "dictator", "usurper" , "An illegitimate government",
with the objective of preventing a new mandate of Maduro and the PSUV (United Socialist
Party of Venezuela).
This new campaign was accompanied by an important internal activity of the opposition to
the PSUV government, which included the self-proclamation of the unknown Juan Guaidó as
"interim or transitional president". Who is Juan Guaidó? Where did it come from? The same
question was asked by most of the international press that supported him, that is, a large
part of the international media support someone unknown and whom they "present in
society". But the US news agency AP had reported that Guaidó, in mid-December "silently"
traveled to Washington, Colombia and Brazil to inform officials about the opposition's
strategy of mass demonstrations to coincide with Maduro's expected oath to a second term
on January 10,
That same Juan Guaidó is a deputy, belonging to a group of extreme right wing opposition,
alleged president of the National Assembly, which since 2016 does not work, does not meet,
due to certain internal conflicts and those caused between opposition and government at
that time , by assuming an opposition majority in said Assembly or Parliament. A conflict
of powers within the State, but now the right, articulating imperial directives, used to
try to give a new coup.
There were two relevant political events that occurred almost simultaneously and it was
not by chance, they corresponded to a strategy and previous agreements, the self-swearing
of Guaidó and the immediate recognition of the United States.
What is striking in the public eye on this occasion is that Juan Guaidó appears to become,
overnight, the leader of the opposition, with the full support of the US government, to
destabilize the Venezuelan political and social situation again, so to end the "Bolivarian
Revolution" and reinstate the right-wing and far-right parties in the government. There
was some small discomfort in the project that had been developing. The own operators and
political brains of the Venezuelan right criticized Guaidó for his "lukewarmness" in the
first moments of his public appearance because he did not decide to proclaim himself
"Interim President", as he did on January 23 with full support of that same right and the
USA. All the right incite to the coup d'etat smooth and plain.
This is not new
This new broadside of the Venezuelan right came hand in hand with the message of US Vice
President Mike Pence, supporting the demonstrations against Maduro that began on January
21 and reached its zenith on the 23rd. These were immense mobilizations, that without a
doubt, they managed to capture and channel the discontent and the wearing down of the
population with the "Bolivarian Revolution". But this does not mean that these
mobilizations express directly the desires and ambitions of the Venezuelan ruling classes
and the extreme right. This social ideological situation is much more complex.
In fact, Guaidó is the "referent", the pawn placed in this instance by the United States,
because there is no other pawn. The main representatives of the right are extremely
discredited because of their class membership such as María Corina Machado, leader of
Vente Venezuela and Sumate, a businesswoman and member of the Venezuelan "oligarchy",
which the Chavez regime has expropriated some of its important companies, such as aluminum
industries; or Leopoldo López, a reference on the extreme right of the Voluntad Popular
party, photographed carrying out attacks, among others, against busts of "Che" Guevara or
Hernando Capriles, leader of Primero Justicia, are now worn out and can not exercise
effective leadership. They also have problems between them for power struggles. That is
why the appointment of this "peon" and its logic "incineration", put to carry out all the
dirty work that is an imperial policy and its allies. The aim is to get Maduro out,
establish a transitional government and support it internationally, both with the
governments of these latitudes and of Europe. Threatening at the same time with military
measures. Accompanying and participating in all this the North American companies are
prepared for the manoteo. In short, they try to create a situation with no way out for the
continuity of the Bolivarian government of Maduro. Accompanying and participating in all
this the North American companies are prepared for the manoteo. In short, they try to
create a situation with no way out for the continuity of the Bolivarian government of
Maduro. Accompanying and participating in all this the North American companies are
prepared for the manoteo. In short, they try to create a situation with no way out for the
continuity of the Bolivarian government of Maduro.
As we will remember, in general, this situation is not new. In April 2002, the United
States supported a coup against Chávez at that time, placing Pedro Carmona, president of
the Fedecámaras employers' association, in the government. A coup d'etat with a clear
sense of class if there were any doubts. That coup failed, Chávez returned to the
government and promoted with new vigor a series of social policies ("the Missions") and a
certain protagonism of the people in "the communes", project promoted by the State, but
which nevertheless triggered an important participation of the people in a certain period
of time, creating cooperatives of production, of consumption, organizing whole
neighborhoods in a limited self-managed form but of real and active participation in broad
social planes. This was done within the capitalist structure and coexisted with the state
bureaucracy and the increasingly growing role of the Army, in a contradictory process, but
where the people began to have a little bit of everything that for centuries had been
denied: food dignified, social services, a certain dignity and social and political
participation. With this social policy, the Chávez government had strong popular support.
It was still fresh "the Caracazo" of 1989, that immense popular explosion against the
neoliberal policy of Carlos Andrés Pérez, which generated hyperinflation and hunger, and
the ferocious repression that followed caused 3 thousand deaths. Chávez appears publicly
in 1992, in an attempted coup that failed, being released years later and initiating a
political movement that finally brought together the Venezuelan left, including several
former members of the guerrilla of the 1960s. A military man with a nationalist discourse,
turning gradually to the left, surrounded by people and parties from a wide left-wing arch
... one of those atypical political experiments, carried out within the capitalist
structure, that reminded us of the "populisms" of the years '40 and '50.
The truth is that this policy of reforms and some redistribution pointing to the popular
aroused the rejection of the Venezuelan bourgeoisie and the right. A clear class instinct
- and racism - was put on the table: for the bourgeoisie now the blacks and mulattos, the
Indians, the poor, the underdogs, had access to "something" and that "something" is always
going to be oversized by those who have power and wealth. That "something", although it
was not much, they felt that it belonged to them, to the rich, to the owners of Venezuela,
and they were not -or are not- ready to lose it.
That is why the Carmona coup of 2002 came, the coup of Fedecámaras, the Central de
Trabajadores de Venezuela (a yellow central bank financed by the United States) and the
traditional political parties Copei and Acción Democrática.
Failed the coup d'état, the US - the entire spectrum of imperial penetration, with the
Central Intelligence Agency, the CIA at the head, went to work with huge resources
(hundreds of millions of dollars) to finance new opposition social organizations with a
mask harmless and opposition political parties (Voluntad Popular, composed of Guaidó,
Primero Justicia and others). Without neglecting the attempt to strengthen the traditional
right-wing parties. At the same time, through its cheating and cynical mechanisms,
financing various NGOs and organizations promoting "citizen education" and "human rights".
The purpose of this imperial spectrum with the Southern Command and the CIA in front was
and is to weaken the Chavez regime to place the government on the right. The media does
not matter. Whether it is by electoral route or via destabilization and coup d'etat is not
relevant neither for the US nor for the Venezuelan opposition. What the people suffer has
no care for them, they have run rivers of blood and sown hunger all their lives and do not
move a hair. His humanitarian speeches are to make effective his miserable and murderous
politics that always falls on those below.
The death of Chávez was a hard blow for the regime, for the Bolivarian governmentality.
Chavez had named Maduro as his "dolphin", he saw that the present form of government was
making water. Perceived that inside the PSUV would intensify the internal struggles for
quotas of power and that corruption, bureaucratization and venality would increase, as
indeed they did. The roots of the system had not been touched and the logic that flows
through all the relations of the dominant power was cruelly operating. The population did
not accompany Maduro with the same enthusiasm, he was not the possessor of the political
sharpness and charisma of a Chávez. Because it was a process that had a high quota of
"personal leadership", of certain "21st century populism", one of its weak points was
there. Even to follow a policy of moderate reforms,
Before the flanks that were presented, degree of popular discontent, the right and the USA
intensified their attacks. The various mobilizations multiplied in the same year of 2013,
after the death of Chávez. They used as spearhead the student movement, of which one
sector had strong infiltration from the right. Soon the opposition parties passed over the
university students and led the protests. The fascists of Leopoldo López and Hernando
Capriles with "democratic" clothes became famous. The cameras of the international press,
played their role strongly, were there to show how these reactionaries and coup leaders
were arrested and some of them died, not what they did, for example, to fire a "chavista"
bestially. Further,
Nor did it show popular resistance on the street, nor did it show it in 2002. It was shown
that the opposition "guarimbas" were organized and armed with a lot of money flowing from
the various tentacles of the CIA like NED and IRI (from those plans of funding that
various right-wing organizations have), posing many of them as defenders of freedom,
education, rights and humanity. They have internalized a cruel cynicism that deserves the
first place by far.
From there for a long time, the right alternated street demonstrations (not always
massive) and usually in the neighborhoods of the "squalid", in the rich areas of Caracas
and other cities, with electoral participation. But the elections, that hackneyed
bourgeois liberal device, is useful if it gives the result that the bourgeoisie wants.
Since Chavismo has specialized in winning bourgeois liberal elections, the Venezuelan and
North American bourgeoisie and most of the bourgeoisies of the world declare that they are
not valid elections, that in "Venezuela there is a dictatorship" and that "Maduro is a
usurper". Nothing matters to them, and they hide it, that the deputy Guaidó, now
"President-in-Charge", was elected in elections organized by the same Electoral Power that
organized the presidential elections of May 20, in which Maduro was re-elected. Never more
than now has it become more certain that elections are valid if they win what the powerful
want.
This is a new wave of attacks, but there have been several, and in all of them the right
and the US have been defeated so far. However, the Maduro regime is eroding, divisions
appear in its bosom, various groups, people and popular sectors manifest their discontent
without turning, mostly, to the right; all this in a context where the economic and
distribution of food and medicines has been aggravated in recent years. Monopolies such as
the business giant Polar have not been attacked in such important areas. To this must be
added the ineffectiveness, corruption, the bureaucracy of the government itself and "the
black market" that grows in these situations of desperation. Appearing last minute
"Bolirricos" in alarming amount.
Geopolitics and oil
The direct participation, with some new modality, of the USA. in the current situation of
Venezuela is part of its geopolitical strategy where, of course, the depredation and theft
of wealth by the transnationals that make up the framework of imperial power is not absent.
The known, the facts are in sight, the bellicose policy of the United States. its
geopolitics of recent decades tending to maintain its global power, which in certain
aspects is threatened, has been reflected in many events of blood and fire. These bring in
hand dangers that can be of magnitude at a general level. An example of this is its arms
policy, regarding increasing and further technologizing its nuclear potential, the
placement of nuclear weapons in places that mean breaches of previous agreements while
forcing powers like Russia to high-risk responses.
The North American empire, on occasions having as an ally to some other country, or
internal forces addicted, has made a whole string of bloody interventions, participating
directly in several cases and in others combining that intervention with other techniques
such as, for example, arming groups with the intervention of other countries to make part
of their work. This without forgetting the thousands of mercenaries, grouped in powerful
companies, which in these brutal events appear, at times, with significant weight.
To say it quickly it was first Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and then they went to
Syria. There were mixed interests here, economic, political, power, control areas that the
empire considered strategically important according to the desires of its power structure
and powers with other countries such as China.
But all this macabre imperial action was not easy to implement nor did it bring the
expected benefits. On the contrary it meant a significant wear and tear that he did not
value at all. Even difficulties in their own internal situation at the level of part of
their population.
The United States did not achieve certain and important planned objectives and had to
re-enter Iraq and Afghanistan. And in another turn of the screw, he now plans to leave
Afghanistan again, his most expensive war in history. It is worth mentioning his active
participation in the destruction of Libya, besides having started new wars in Syria and
Ukraine. It was becoming clear that the incidence of the so-called militarist faction
remains, in recent times, a factor of the first order in the design of its global
imperialist strategy. Inside the imperialist bloc with the US at the top appear tensions,
interests, which cause certain powers to push for something different policies or to
consider more their partial demands. Such is the case of many multinationals and their
ideological and political expressions.
September 11 is designated as the moment from which the militarist faction tries to
subordinate the interests of many multinationals to their war strategy at the level of the
enemies in the world.
In this policy of the empire there appears a form of state intervention that is related to
the new systemic constitution in this crudely neoliberal "stage" called social control.
What we want to emphasize even briefly is something that more than one analyst has
affirmed. That the priorities, the imperial attrition in his petty and macabre adventures
of power, the concentration that that strategy demanded, initially in the Middle East and
Africa, implied in the facts, for a certain time, a certain neglect of his "backyard". Not
an abandonment of its imperial policy on the area, but to be less on top of events. It was
also considered with firm foundations that in the new stage that came the situation would
begin to vary for the poor Latin American environment. It is worth saying that imperial
attention on the area would increase to an important degree. More keeping in mind that
during that time that space was well taken advantage of by its main enemy: China.
We have then, that within that general strategy that has as main enemy to China and later
Russia, it is the primary objective of the USA today to regain full control of what it
considers its "backyard". That is for them a fundamental task and along with it goes hand
in hand the taking of wealth from our Latin American countries, oil and minerals from
Venezuela, for example.
Venezuela is an oil lake, literally. There are the largest oil reserves on the planet with
more than 300 billion barrels. It is the first oil reserve in the world. The second is
Saudi Arabia, but since it is a "carnal" ally of the US, it does not dare to invade it or
attack it in any way, even though there governs a Theocratic Monarchy that finances the
so-called Salafist terrorism (as an Islamic State), that is, the country of the East.
Medium with a higher level of repression against women, the press, etc. There the United
States does not claim "democracy, and humanitarian conditions." The house of Saud - now
with Bin Salmán - are faithful allies of the "democratic" power of the planet, very useful
to its general global strategy.
For reasons of this global power strategy, which covers different contexts, Venezuela and
Iran, among other countries, are on the list of "enemies" of the United States. This
intends to take control of these different areas of the world by any means. He already did
it in Libya, hand in hand with "Democrat" Hillary Clinton and tried to do it in Syria. The
United States does not skimp on decimating populations, turning certain countries into the
most absolute misery, turning them into "failed states," just as they did in Libya or Iraq.
Countries that it considers to be detrimental to its strategy, that are allied with
enemies, Chinese and Russians, who preach ideas and constitution of organisms that are
face-to-face with their project, must be destroyed. Brazil in the BRIC (which is made up
of China and Russia) was not to his liking. That government of so many good relations with
those of above also did not serve to him. I also saw as a danger a government like the
Venezuelan that spoke of socialism, anti-imperialism that promoted new institutions: ALBA,
CELAC, UNASUR, Petrocaribe and that promoted resistance to signing the FTAs. Simply by
what that degree of autonomy represents, it had, in terms of its political, economic and
social interests, to destroy it in any way.
As much as the hard core of the system was not touched, nothing that looked like socialism
was ever implemented, although it was mentioned constantly, it did not matter, it reached
the effect that its preaching could cause. In his logic was an enemy that had to be
destroyed and enough.
In that action is the USA today with more zeal. The fact, the resurgence of economic
sanctions against Venezuela in recent days, have been centered on the actions of Citgo,
the Venezuelan oil company in the US, a subsidiary of PDVSA. For these sanctions, the US
blocks 7 billion dollars and 11 billion dollars in oil exports for this 2019. This totals
a third of Uruguay's GDP, approximately. Citgo also has three refineries, 48 storage
terminals and 6,000 service stations in the US, a not insignificant capital, but where
fuel is sold and distributed at a lower cost than the North American oil companies
commanded by the Rockefellers, Bush, etc. Citgo is also drowned in credit matters at the
international level. It links and covers this blatant theft with Venezuela's current
internal policy. He says that money would be channeled to the self-proclaimed president
Guaidó. All in defense of the "humanitarian crisis" and absence of legitimate rights,
which the people suffer. This cynicism is already ridiculous. That this tremendous
murderer of peoples, producer of misery and emigration of large and desperate populations
we get away with that is too much!
It was precisely through oil, on the rise at that time, that the Chavez regime was able to
finance social policies ("the Missions") and a certain redistribution in the Chavez years;
as a counterpart of that oil to high values in the world market, Venezuela deepened its
economic dependence and did not industrialize. But this allowed an international policy of
support to Latin American countries, creating Petrocaribe. Cuba and several small Antilles
have benefited from this policy of cheap oil and closer diplomatic ties. It was this same
policy and alliance that made possible the defeat of the United States and the Lima Group
at the OAS in recent days. But it was that policy that also motivated the United States to
support and give a coup in Honduras against the Zelaya government, because he was
lukewarmly approaching Venezuelan foreign policy. The US could not allow one of its
"pawns" to get off the board. Honduras was the military base of the Nicaraguan "contra" in
the 1980s and of all the counterinsurgencies of those years. The coup against the
"Guatemalan Revolution" of Arbenz in 1954 also started there.
Let's add in passing that the US it also motivated the policy along with Saudi Arabia of
lowering international oil prices to dent the possibilities of Venezuela and Iran and
their respective foreign policies.
A long history of aggression
With the media to everything that gives to form opinion and create subjectivity against
Venezuela. he presents himself as a defender of certain values that he always ran over,
including those of his own bourgeois democracy that he displaced when it did not suit him
and that he does not take it into account today. Before this broadside that promotes
forgetfulness, it is convenient to remember some things that happened at different times
and that are representative of what the true face of the empire is.
Our Latin America is a territory that has endured the most bloody aggressions of US
imperialism. And our peoples have suffered and endured the consequences of such
aggressions. That criminal history is long, but let's mention some of the most notorious
ones. Invasion to Mexico in 1845 and declaration of war. Result: Mexico loses half of its
territory, which is currently the oil area of the United States.
Cuba and Puerto Rico in 1898. Through the "Platt Amendment" (amendment added by the US in
the Cuban Constitution), the island became an American colony. The interests of the sugar
companies, the banking and the Yankee game, as well as prostitution prevailed there. At
the time, the Cuban Revolution cut off these negotiations and said colonial relationship.
However, Puerto Rico remains under the full control of the North American eagle.
But in both cases, as in Nicaragua (already invaded in 1855), the United States applies
the same scheme: support for "puppet" governments, constant electoral fraud and coups
d'état. If necessary, ultimately, disembarkation of the Marines. Invasion. Augusto César
Sandino fought with dignity in Nicaragua along with his popular guerrilla.
In 1914 invasion of Haiti, looting of the country. Previously, in 1903, the US arrogates
the right to invent a country: Panama. He financed and supported an "independence
movement" in that area of what Colombia was. That is to say, he removed part of Colombia
to build there the famous Interoceanic Canal, which was the territory of the United
States, guarded by its marines. That is why Omar Torrijos, who negotiated with the United
States the return of the Canal to Panamanian hands, was assassinated in an attack in 1981.
Closer geographically, the direct support of the CIA and the US Embassy to the Pinochet
coup d'état in Chile in 1973, very well documented. In the same way, his active
participation in the Condor Plan that murdered and disappeared tens of thousands of
comrades in the Southern Cone. US support for innumerable coups in Argentina, Brazil,
Bolivia and Stroessner's Paraguay, their support for the 1973 coup in Uruguay. The
invasion to Granada in 1983.
The invasion of the Marines to Panama again in 1989, to "liberate" that country from
Noriega, a cruel dictator. Of course, what the Americans were not willing to admit was
that Noriega was "His Man" in Panama. He worked for the CIA and the DEA, but it occurred
to him to "skip" the Yankees in cocaine trafficking from Colombia via Panama to the US.
They were not going to forgive that "sin" and the US government disciplined the Panamanian
people. They razed the country and left 3,000 murdered.
Examples abound. Thousands of crimes. The red ribbons of his flag are of blood, of towns
murdered by their petty interests. For the interests of a bourgeoisie that believes itself
to be the owner of the world.
Moreover, the plan of aggression against Venezuela in its beginnings, had some elements of
what was used in Chile in 1973. In this last stage they have adjusted "details" of
relevance, continue to use different forms of pressure, some still bourgeois for bourgeois
values but in addition now they threaten shamelessly to invade the country without major
taboos.
The international scene
The international scene plays a lot in the Venezuelan crisis. Maduro before assuming his
new mandate went to Russia to meet with Putin to guarantee his support in all areas. The
role of China is also important. Both Russia and China have significant investments in
Venezuela and in Latin America in general. That makes, as we mentioned before, that this
region enters the board of the inter-imperialist world disputes.
But there is some truth in that the post-Cold War "unipolarity" ended. The US can not
impose its full will on the world without further ado, even if it maintains an
overwhelming military power. In this period, the last was Libya. In Syria, they already
felt the brake of Russia in the diplomatic field but also in the military field and in the
very skillful alliances that the Russian government deployed, and of China in the
diplomatic field. In Venezuela, the same thing happens, only that it is in the direct
"zone of influence" of the US, also with that huge amount of nearby oil. Therefore, he
clearly expresses that he is not willing to tolerate it.
We said that the US lost the vote in the OAS thanks to a long-term Venezuelan policy. How
long will that support of the small Antilles last? Will the US manufacture any kind of
coup in one of those small countries?
There is something that stands out and we want to mention: that the role of the Uruguayan
Almagro has been disgusting. A spawn of progressivism, of the kidney of Mujica,
"palanqueado" by him in the international arena and placed in the General Secretariat of
the OAS. Or Almagro has two faces, or serves whoever gives "work" or we are facing an
infiltration of the highest level, worthy of the best spy novels. The Venezuelan and Cuban
secret services indicated that they had suspected since the time of the Mujica government
that Almagro worked for the CIA. We do not know if this was so. The truth is that it does
now and does it directly for Trump. Apparently, if he did not do it before, it was because
he was not given a chance, he is a despicable figure, disgusting and creepy.
And it is in the international scenario where a good part of the conflict is played,
because the US can not allow a country from its "zone of influence" to favor an
independent foreign policy and on top of that, I tried to order its "backyard" otherwise.
Very complex times will come
While the US and Almagro at the head of the OAS and the Lima Group talk about an invasion
of Venezuela, they do not say anything against other regimes that certainly have nothing
democratic and this is no coincidence. They say nothing of the Honduran government, chosen
for proven electoral fraud, after a coup d'etat deposed Zelaya in 2009 and reordered the
internal situation, with a ferocious repression of the people with the dead and
disappeared. That town that today emigrates desperate.
They say nothing of Temer's "soft punch" and Bolsonaro's proto-fascist rise, since of
course, that's his own bill. A timely American creation for these times. One of the
necessary elements to unleash this new wave of coup and interventionism in Venezuela was
the necessary support of the Brazilian government, and of a "strong" government, of
course. The secretary of defense of the United States, Jim Mattis was at the end of 2018
in Brazil with the purpose of containing the Chinese influence in Brazil. The same can be
said of Colombia. With the FARC already committed to the bourgeois electoral game, the US
can use the Colombian army and the paramilitaries to piacere. In this time of "peace" they
have murdered hundreds of social militants and some ex-guerrillas. In this case, the role
of the ELN (National Liberation Army) of camilista -guevarista stamp becomes relevant,
that seeing how this process really happened, although it intervened in the conversations,
it did not accept at the end that program of "peace". Finally it does not abandon its
weapons, it retakes military operations, it does not surrender and it is trying to resist
within the framework of its specific conception and has increased its presence in the
Colombian-Venezuelan border. Eventually a regional conflict may be brewing if Brazil and
Colombia intervene, and the ELN is caught in it. it does not surrender and is trying to
resist within the framework of its specific conception and has increased its presence on
the Colombian-Venezuelan border. Eventually a regional conflict may be brewing if Brazil
and Colombia intervene, and the ELN is caught in it. it does not surrender and is trying
to resist within the framework of its specific conception and has increased its presence
on the Colombian-Venezuelan border. Eventually a regional conflict may be brewing if
Brazil and Colombia intervene, and the ELN is caught in it.
For now, the US does not skimp on plunging Venezuela into chaos, in order to regain
control of that government and its oil. It is important to destroy that small pole that
even within capitalism is presented as antagonistic, removing the support of Russia, China
and Iran from the middle. He is not interested in the consequences that the Venezuelan
people may suffer. He only cares to mention it to use it in his macabre plans.
But all this open imperial intervention places the Latin American peoples before a
scenario of more and determined struggle. An intervention like the one that has been
given, aggressive and blatant US. in the continent the popular response must increase:
massive street mobilizations, widespread popular rejection. Coordination of actions of the
true and independent anti-imperialist social movements. To respond to the brutal and overt
outrage of imperialism and its allies, to neoliberal capitalism, with the popular advance,
of those below, in a process of strong people.
Not to mention that if a direct military intervention were given, the fundamental thing is
fighting people in the street, repudiating with force the murderous act. If that direct
intervention were given that the US wants so much. and Trump and that have not
materialized and continue to explore other ways that lead to the same, by virtue of
calculations about the political and social effects that this can cause in the medium
term. They are playing to the maximum today to take the people they can to the street to
destabilize and try to capture a part of the Armed Forces. to leave no way out and put
their candidates servile in the government.
Yes, this is the new capitalism they are talking about. Scholars warn us that we are in a
stage of capitalism whose composition has undergone modifications in relation to the past
historical newspaper. But the new elements that make up its current structure maintain
fidelity with the hard core of the system. The stage called very generously of the
"welfare state" has been left behind and certain functions of containment that that State
also carried out. Equally almost without weight, the fantasy of democracy invented by the
bourgeoisie to assert its power. What comes as new is a crude and hard neoliberal capitalism.
But what does not doubt is that the most polished plot, the most effective devices that
the capitalist system was weaving in this last century does not contradict fundamental
premises of what is historically known about the system. The mechanisms, devices and
institutions that were polishing or producing capitalism for its maintenance and
reproduction fulfill the functions that have been indicated for other historical moments.
What is new about capitalism is its reformulated DNA, more adjusted and taking into
account lived experiences and technological developments. But the raw exploitation and
oppression are there and stronger than ever.
Today's face is more raw, brutal and with more effective technological means to try to
insert populations, to feel as necessary superfluous consumption varied, to destroy more
wildly nature and produce large populations "leftovers." It is clearer than ever, there is
no possibility of a rupture process, not even of strong reforms, using the means that the
system offers: its logic, its "common sense" its devices, its electoral mechanisms and
institutions that are its own
Obviously then this "stage" of capitalism is not identical to the previous one. It has its
specific problems that constitute a challenge to a proposal that tries to process a
profound change. Accepting this challenge and formulating social responses is our reason
for being. Producing, and with a willingness to correct, lines of theoretical-political
work we must be in permanent social action. It is never a matter of sitting down to wait
for more "favorable" moments, in all circumstances there must be a coherent strategy and
tactics working. In some moments that are less intense organizing for foreseeable upcoming
events, adjusting the internal organization in its different planes, in other moments of
more intensity executing actions, applying forecasts and reading the events so that
answers are more fertile.
The dynamics indicated shouts it out, in this capitalist world, the power that comes from
above is not popular. If the people do not exercise power, but develop active
participation in a process oriented towards that, with the practices that can make it
