March 2 and 3 are held in Viamão, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, the XIII th
edition of the Latin American meeting of popular and autonomous organizations (Elaopa),
who claim independence and class solidarity, grassroots democracy and direct action. We
publish a summary of the statement from these meetings. ---- "500 years ago, it was the
European invasion and the process of African deportation, today it is the states and
extractivist societies that threaten our people and our planet. ---- The institutionalized
violence of the patriarchal, colonialist, racist and capitalist system is incarnated
through the feminicide of black and indigenous women, the extermination of traditional
peoples, the massive imprisonment of blacks, the prison industry, the intensification of
agribusiness, the mining industry, monoculture and all forms of nature predation that
deplete our territories and force the migration of our communities.

Our tasks are to strengthen and organize our communities, to reinforce ethno-racial
struggles, to restore culture, spirituality and the values of solidarity, unity, respect
for our ancestors and nature, to propose spaces of constant political formation and
meeting, breaking with colonial and Eurocentric thought.

Exceeding sexist practices
The advance of neoliberalism and conservatism reinforces heteronormed and traditional
gender roles and incites the violence of capitalism, especially against the oppressed,
black and LGBTQI + (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex) This violence
takes different forms depending on gender identities and dissident sexual orientations.
These people are also systematically disadvantaged in access to the world of work, housing
and other rights. On the other hand, many movements organized by dissident groups of
gender and sexuality seek individual rights. The individualistic perspective alienates the
struggle of other identities from an intersectional point of view. It is therefore
necessary to organize the struggle around a class perspective and to take into account the
specificity of the oppressions suffered. Feminist and popular education methodologies,
such as guaranteeing safe spaces, collective childcare, overcoming sexist practices in
organizations, comprehensive sexuality education, work cooperatives and struggles for
housing are examples of what can be done and claimed. The bureaucratization of social
movements is one of the major problems of building a grassroots participatory movement and
has generated a culture of passivity and militant professionalism. We believe that to
build a truly combative and participatory movement from the bottom up,

The crisis of 2008 played an important role in this process of rising to the extreme
right. Promoting feelings of xenophobia, sexism, racism, homophobia, criminalization of
poverty, etc. Helps to mask the enormous financial crime that has benefited banks at the
cost of enormous social and economic sacrifices. Faced with these threats, the group of
fighters and fighters of the organizations that build Elaopa, have no illusions about
governments and conciliatory solutions within the deadly system, and face the challenge of
hardening their struggles, for create a popular power.

Finally, in a Latin American context marked in particular by the political and economic
crisis in Venezuela with the US interference and their threat of military intervention in
the country, the participants opposed it with the slogan: "No to Yankee intervention in
Latin America ! United States out of Venezuela ! For the self-determination of the
Venezuelan people. "

The statement is available in its entirety in Castilian on Anarkismo.net

The international and, in particular, the national context points us to the deepening of
social inequalities and repression of the people and social movements from north to south
of the country. The neoliberal reforms have the short-term consequence of the
impoverishment of the working class and the loss of rights with the ongoing Labor and
Social Security Reforms. In this sense, it is only through the autonomous organization of
the workers that we can resist, bar the reforms and conquer rights, besides being the only
way out for socialism. ---- The social, union and student movements in general do not
fulfill their function in the struggle with workers and students, only presenting itself
as bridge to parties that dispute positions in the Bourgeois State via elections. As a
consequence, there is a demobilization of the struggles and constant repression and
boycott of the struggle of the working class, which, in turn, prevents the formation of an
autonomous and grassroots action of the people.

Thus, the task today is to break with the current bureaucratic union entities and rebuild
the REVOLUTIONARY SINDICALISM. That is why we, the workers, students and unemployed of the
FOB, are inviting everyone to form the First Construction Meeting of SIGA - CE (AUTONOMOUS
- CEARÁ GENERAL UNION), which will bring together workers, students and the unemployed /
the fighters of the people, to build a rupture with corporatism, union bureaucracies, and
fights and immobilism. Let us build collectively and from the ground up an instrument of
struggle and resistance of the working class: SIGA - CE.

The I Construction Meeting of SIGA - CE , a revolutionary syndicalist organization in the
city of Fortaleza and Entorno, will take place on June 18, 2019 at 7 pm in the Auditorium
of the Faculty of Education (FACED) of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC).

We will always follow the combative way to achieve a dignified life and a future of peace,
justice and freedom!

Herbert Claros, 37, is a metallurgist and secretary for international relations at the
CSP-Conlutas [2]. We met him at the beginning of the year on the occasion of his visit to
Europe during a round of meetings to take stock of the situation since the arrival in
power of the neo-fascist Jair Bolsonaro in October 2018, to talk about the
responsibilities from the Workers Party (PT), in power from 2003 to 2016, in this disaster
as well, as the prospects of response of the social movement, trade union and feminist.
---- Libertarian alternative : What is the context of the election of Jair Bolsonaro at
the head of Brazil ? ---- Herbert Claros : The elections showed the great dissatisfaction
of the working class and the majority of the population with the political class and their
parties. But the lack of prospects in the face of the economic crisis and the
disillusionment caused by the PT governments of Lula (2003-2011) and Dilma Rousseff
(2011-2016), and their adaptation to the logic of a rotten system, strengthened the
extreme right option. One of the factors of Bolsonaro's victory is the deepening of the
economic and social crisis for many years. To fully understand how the crisis has affected
workers, we must return to the consequences of the Workers Party policy when it was in power.

During the first tenures of the PT, there has been a growth in commodity exports, which
are one of the pillars of the Brazilian economy. In this context, the PT took measures
that allowed Brazilians to borrow more easily to buy a house ("My house, my life"), to
enroll in university ("pro uni ") Or more widely to have access to consumer credit. The
law has been amended so that even without a second salary, large loans are possible. When
the economic crisis intensified, starting in 2007, many families were unable to repay
their loans and the banks drew directly from the source on wages. Since then, the crisis
has only intensified, as have its corollaries: social misery and crime.

In Brazil, the unemployment rate is 25% and the minimum wage is 253 euros, and that's what
70% of the population earns. Violence and crime have increased, with a homicide rate 30%
higher than that of the European Union. In 2017, there were 63,880 homicides, of which 58%
of the victims are young. In the last ten years, there have been 500,000 violent deaths.
These elements help to understand how the security discourse of a candidate like Bolsonaro
found favor with the public.

The PT Presidency and the many cases of corruption have also contributed to the red carpet.

Corruption is not new. It goes back to Portuguese colonization. It was common under the
dictatorship. But during the PT presidency, it exploded, splashing Lula's party, and more
generally all the institutional parties.

The organization of the football World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016 were
peppered with cases of corruption in the allocation of gigantic sites. Huge
infrastructure, like metros, had to be built. A good example is the new stadium in São
Paulo, which cost three times more than expected ! Civil construction companies like
Odebrecht, involved in this real estate corruption have funded, incidentally, the campaign
of the two big parties, the PT and the PMDB (party of the neoliberal right).

Not surprisingly, early in his presidency Bolsonaro was on the offensive. Can you say a
few words ?

One of his first steps was to transfer the National Indigenous Foundation to the Ministry
of Agriculture. The latter being in the hands of the large landowners, a great threat now
weighs on the Amerindian lands, because the interest of the agribusiness sector is, of
course, opposed to the protection of the environment and the local populations. Currently
the big landowners are using mercenaries to train militias that invade indigenous peoples'
lands. A highway project that would go right through the Amazon rainforest is in the pipes
! Another proposed measure is the removal of ministries such as Sports and Labor. To
eliminate the Ministry of Labor is essentially the end of municipal premises enabling
people to assert their rights. This is the end, too, of labor inspections. Bolsonaro makes
possible the dream of all bosses !

Which sectors of the population can give rise to resistance to the government ?

The government intends to privatize the post office, airports, electricity, the national
oil company (PetroBras), and to continue the sale of the national aviation company
(Ambraer) to Boeing, already initiated under the governments PT. All of these measures are
a challenge for the labor and popular movement. We will have to unite to fight the
government in the street, because it is on this ground that we must confront it, and not
in Parliament. My union will assume its responsibilities towards this unit of action.

A first step has already been taken on February 20, with huge demonstrations at the call
of a "National Assembly of the working classes for the defense of pension funds" which
includes all the union confederations of the country. In fact, a government project wants
to break the funding of pay-as-you-go pensions, in favor of a system of capitalization,
excluding the principle of solidarity between assets and those which have ceased to be so,
and giving to the provident funds and private insurance a blanket seignt.

Feminism is another frontier of struggle at the forefront of mobilization: in response to
the election of Bolsonaro, a women's movement, unprecedented and unprecedented, was born
in Brazil: #ELE NAO (Not him) ! This movement popularized feminism with, during the
election campaign, huge demonstrations with 4 million women on the street in more than 114
cities ! This feminist awakening is very important, because in Brazil the rights of women
are defiled. This is the 5 th country with the highest rate of feminicide ; the first
country in terms of LGBT mortality ; 45% of women live below the poverty line. In
North-East Brazil, abortion is a crime, as is the use of the contraceptive pill. Another
example of this gender-based violence is the so-called "Birth Bursary", an allowance for
any woman who has been raped and pregnant to convince her to keep her baby.

The last word ?

In a context of attack on the rights of our class at the international level, it is
important to be able to have contacts and to be in solidarity. The CSP Conlutas for
example made a rally in front of the French Embassy in São Paulo, during the day of action
and strike of February 5 in France. It is important to develop this international
solidarity because it makes us stronger. In Brazil, we will need your support in the
upcoming protests against the government of Jair Bolsonaro. The main ground for overcoming
dictatorial plans and attacks on the rights of the people is direct action, based on class
independence and workers' democracy. The fight is just beginning. The hour of resistance
and struggle has come !

SOLIDARITY STONDEMETRIS KOUFONTINA SERIOUS PAIN OF 2/5 ---- Immediate leave and removal of
the prosecutor's veto ---- TO REMOVE THE EXCLUSION STATUS FOR CITIZEN CITIZENS ---- "Our
consciousness is fueled by the memory of the struggles, to say it once again, to
understand it, we remember to remember to defend it at all costs" ---- "And where did they
stand? In my old statements about the need to resist state terrorism and rights that were
in fact racing conquests. But these words are not just mine. There are many who are saying
and doing so in solidarity. So let's just tell them once again to figure it out. As long
as there is state terrorism, there will be people who will relive the red thread of the
struggles that permeates a story of centuries of resistance "

D. Koufontina

On Thursday 2 May, after the prison council was held in Cassavetia, Volos, D. Koufodinas
launched a hunger strike in response to the vengeful cut of the permits he is entitled to.
The Prosecutor Constantine vetoed the granting of permission to D. Koufontina, citing
non-formal but political reasons (the phrase "the red thread of resistance", which had
been used by D. Koufodinas in an earlier statement). It is noteworthy that this prosecutor
was one of those who had agreed to give permission to D. Koufonthina in the past, and
nothing has happened since then.

On February 27th, the Voluntary Volos Council rejected unanimously the request of D.
Koufodina to be granted the seventh license. The seventh authorization was
majority-approved by the Prison Council, but prosecutor Christos Karagiannis, serving
larger state plans, vetoed, overturning the previous decisions through which the six
licenses were granted to D.Koufodina.

In November 2017, D. Koufodina took the first permit in a climate of media hysteria and
terror, while interventions aimed at creating a climate of withdrawal were made by a
number of political figures and embassies, including the US. Political prisoner D.
Koufodinas was entitled to leave for seven years and was deprived of it because "he has
not diversified his conscious background" and because he has a "distorted ideology". What
the authorities were asking for was a statement of repentance and a disclaimer of his
ideology.

In May-June 2018, political prisoner D. Koufodina once again carried out a hunger strike
demanding regular regular leave and abolishing the prosecution veto. The reason for this
strike was the intervention by the Athenian Prosecutor, who removed Koufdonta's right to
leave (which was denied for seven years), resulting in the suspension of the licenses he
had begun to take over the last few months. As he himself said then: "The faction of
supposedly independent justice collapses once again and reveals the real face of this deep
class and politically revolutionary institution. Because this interference, shaking the
laws of her own system, which she supposedly serves, sends the clear message that no other
law or code applies to the political opponent,

The rationale of the last two appeals resumes the extortionary demands of judicial and
political power on political prisoners to deliver statements of repentance and
renunciation of their political history. "From the aforementioned statements we can only
draw a negative conclusion as to the course of correction of the particular convict. The
statements "to resist state terrorism" and "to repel the red thread of these struggles",
which directly refer to violence, not only do not indicate a course of correction and
respect for the rule of law, but rather demonstrate a person who, in fact and constantly
abolishes the legal order ". At the same time, the Council held on 27 February, unlike the
legal data so far, stated that"no regular leave can be granted in the event that the
prisoner has been sentenced to several of one life sentence."

Power has always attempted to bend, nullify, and flatten its political opponents in order
to consolidate its sovereignty-omnipotence. Besides, this is evident from the vengeance of
each political prisoner and from the special exemption regime for them.

The Syrian government has chosen to draw and implement the "left" version of the doctrine
of law and order. The revivalist request for the revocation of the innocent judgment for
T. Theophilos (which was eventually rejected), the evacuation of the occupation of the
Rectorate, which showed solidarity with the hunger strike of the political prisoners, the
vengeful refusal to grant permits to political prisoners, the criminalization of friendly
and related affiliation with them, the attack on any form of unionism (persecution of
members of the Association of Witnesses, targeting of employees in the Mass Transit,
lay-offs of workers unite their action, etc.), prosecutions and intrusions in homes
fighters against auctions, entire villages trials and converting them to "terrorist"
organizations, (condemnation of the 77-year-old militant from Megali Panagia Halkidiki,
the conviction of Marios Seisidis in 36 years of imprisonment, the conviction of Fivos
Charisis with no evidence, and the refusal to etc.) are some of the results of the
upgrading of the repressive arsenal that the government is gradually implementing in
cooperation with the judicial authorities and the anti-terrorist agency. The hypotheses of
Sp. Christodoulou, V. Dimakis and N. Papadopoulos are added to the above.

In order to ensure that the regime is fully enforced and that the interests of the
predominant economic and political elites are seamlessly served, all means can be used in
even more aggravated form and even more intensive. Thus, this imposition passes through
the total extermination of those who struggle against it, through the exemplary punishment
of those who lift up the head to resist or have every reason to do so, through the brutal
and overtly suppression of those who refuse to accept its dissolution their life, through
state revivalism and the material-moral extermination of those who have been in the hands
of the state for their action. The "war on terror" and the exemplary punishment of
dissidents pass through the consolidation of the iron grid of repression in every social
field, with the intensity of control and oversight in society, as well as the creation of
a special statute of exception for politicians and social militants. A regime built under
the special laws of terrorists, which imposes special trials, special indictments,
deprivation of basic rights, special cells and special treatment.

The world of power reserves more control, more repression, more exploitation and fear.
Behind him to re-establish the struggle communities, to organize our social and class
fronts and our political presence to overthrow the plans of the political and economic
elites. We must fight to break the regime of political prisoners, oppose state repression
and attempt to enlarge it, highlight the fate of state struggles at the expense of
militants, fight state revival, and leave no one alone the hands of the state. To stand by
the side of D. Koufodina who for years has been struggling with dignity through the cells
of "democracy"

In the irreversible despondency of the state and the capitalist world, the deadlocks, its
political and valueless bankruptcy, to counter the collective resistance, class

I stumbled upon this book when looking for more books by people of colour to read. The
book is a collection of 21 short stories by black, Asian and minority ethic writers
(BAME), mainly first and second-generation immigrants, who have grown up in the UK and
details the difficulties they have experienced, and the racism and prejudice they have
faced here. Nikesh Shukla has collected a series of stories ranging from somewhat humorous
anecdotes to a more sombre approach to the subject matter, so there's a pretty broad mix
of styles included. ---- A lot of the stories focus on the idea of a ‘good' and ‘bad'
immigrant and this idea that immigrants, or basically, those who are non-white, have
certain expectations pushed upon them by society that white people just don't have to
contend with. There is the idea that people of colour must ‘prove' themselves in order to
be accepted into ‘British culture' - something which is problematic in itself and is
steeped in a history of violence, colonialism and xenophobia; many of the writers focus on
the feeling of being unwanted by the country they were born in, despite the huge
contributions migrants have made here.

It also looks at just how ingrained institutional racism is in our everyday society. As
white person from Sunderland, a rather homogenous city up in the North East of the
England, I have to be honest and say it is something that isn't always on my radar, and is
something I need to be more mindful of, including in my own interactions. This book was a
rather stark reminder of just how ingrained this is in our society and the horrendous
consequences it has on people's everyday lives.

There isn't a single focus in this book, there are discussions on being mixed race, what
it means to be black, the idea of the Asian ‘model minority', however within the diversity
and breadth of discussion there is commonality in the way all these authors have been
treat in this country. Stand out essays for me were ‘A Guide To Being Black', ‘Airports
and Auditions', ‘The Ungrateful Country' and ‘Beyond Good Immigrants'.

I think it is important to mention that the writers in this book all know the author (as
she points out in the preface) and that they are all considered to be relatively
successful people within current society, which therefore means the demographic being
represented is somewhat limited. We still don't get to hear the voices of those who are
facing poverty, unemployment and unable to access the basic services they need. There are
some working-class voices in the book, although these seem to be fewer in number.

Considering the UK's horrific past of colonialism, our continuing onslaught of imperialism
around the globe and our ongoing battle against racism, this book is a great starting
point to try to understand and empathise what those around us routinely suffer through and
how we attempt overcome these issues. It's 2019, and we've got a long way to go yet. I
recommend this book to everyone really, but especially white people, it's extremely
relevant and will probably leave you feeling a mixture of despair, shame and rage.

Northern Jam is an Anarchist and feminist from reet up North. Passionate about cross
stitching, reading and the downfall of the white supremist, capitalist and patriarchy.

This Thursday May 16, CGT has convened a rally, which took place between 1:30 p.m. and
2:30 p.m., at the gates of the company SMRC (Medina de Rioseco), coinciding with the entry
and exit of shifts in protest to the repression that this company applies to the union
section of CGT, as detailed in the following statement: ---- From CGT we have constituted
the trade union section in SMRC, tired of being signed retrograde agreements and of
supporting unions that have chosen to bow to the demands of the company against the rights
and interests of workers. These unions do not even deign to publish press releases on the
boards, or convene assemblies to decide against any signature that affects us all, as
happened during the negotiation of the agreement.
Well, newly constituted this union section have dismissed two colleagues in a totally
arbitrary and unjustified, with the sole purpose of sowing fear in the staff to the next
union elections that are coming. Faced with this injustice, since CGT we have asked for
support from the Works Committee to stop these dismissals, and not only have they avoided
us as Trade Union Section and co-workers, but also, they have forgotten the obligation to
defend the few rights that we have left to the workers, leaving us helpless in the face of
the injustices of the company.
In CGT we will not overlook this outrage and we want all workers to be aware that only
fighting together, we can get the readmission of our colleagues and improve our working
and social conditions within this company.
As a first measure of pressure in the face of dismissals, we have convened this
concentration at the factory doors so that everyone can approach you to show your support
to the comrades at the entrance and exit of the work shift.
Through our trade union sections we will inform the client companies (Renault, Wolkswagen,
General Motors, PSA, Ford) of the situation, so that they put pressure on the company and
it re-admits its colleagues.
Only by being united and fighting can improvements be achieved both socially and in the
face of corporate greed and the docility of the accomplices unions, and only through the
unity of action of all, we will make possible the change of attitude of those responsible
for the company.
We must bear in mind that we can organize ourselves outside these trade union centers,
which only seek their individual benefits in the face of the collective, that is where we
enter CGT, an organization without any political ties, where the assembly is sovereign and
where solidarity prevails and the unit of action to defend all jobs against workplace
harassment by the company.
READMISSION OF OSCAR AND DIEGO NOW!!!

They touch us all "
