In July 2015, 33 revolutionaries who set out to rebuild Kobanê, a city that was destroyed
and plundered by ISIS gangs, were massacred by the murderous State and ISIS. In order to
commemorate the massacred revolutionaries and to keep their struggles alive,
commemorations were made for the 4th anniversary of the Suruç Massacre in Istanbul and
Ankara upon the call of the Youth Organizations including Anarchist Youth. ---- At the
very hour of the massacre 4 years ago, commemorations took place at the graves of our
comrades, who were massacred by the murderous State and ISIS gangs. The 33 Martyrs were
remembered and it was promised that unfinished dreams would be completed and that we would
call the responsible to account for what was done to them.
All the revolutionaries and the families of those who lost their lives in Suruç Massacre
were gathered at 18.00 in Kadiköy, Halitaga Street for the sit-in protest to commemorate
33 revolutionaries. It was shouted that the people who were massacred by murderous State
and ISIS gangs, still live in the struggle. Throughout the sit-in, the families of those
living on that day and the families of our murdered comrades gave speeches.
The ongoing injustice, oppression and violence since the massacre continued in Istanbul
and Ankara against those gathered to commemorate them.
Following the sit-in in Istanbul, as the march towards Süreyya Opera House, the meeting
point for the memorial event in Mehmet Ayvalitas Park, the murderous police (of the
murderous State) began their unceasing attacks. Similarly, in Ankara, on the call of Youth
Organizations, including Anarchist Karala, those who came together for the action on
Sakarya Street were subjected to police attacks. 8 revolutionary were detained. With the
ongoing gatherings in the Kizilay after the attack, it was once again shown that it would
not step back against the killer State. The revolutionaries who did not leave the streets
showed that the struggle for Justice for Suruç could not be ended with theseattacks.
KADIKOY IS BARRICADED
Those who forced the revolutionaries to step back after being subjected to their attacks,
detention and intimidation policies once again saw that Kadikoy was the barricade of the
revolutionaries. 33 comrades, our friends, were fighting in the streets of Kadikoy. The
violent police tried tosuppress the anger of the revolutionaries was inturn responded by
narrowing the streets of Kadiköy with barricades to stymie the determined police attacks,
Kadikoy was once again shown to be a field of resistance and struggle.
Continuing their unceasing attacks , the police detained 20 revolutionaries, including 3
of our comrades from Anarchist Youth. From the Kalkedon to Bahariye Street, barricades
were built on all the streets of Kadiköy.
The fight of the 33 anarchist and socialist revolutionaries massacred in Suruç is our
fight. The journey of martyrs cannot be ended with bombs, attacks, detentions and
intimidation.
Their fight is ours.
Our fight will continue!

The Guardian has news today that planning law changes will mean the end of segregated play
areas in housing developments. But CLASS WAR can reveal that Housing minister James
Brokenshire is set to announce today that planning law changes will go much further than
the Guardian suggests and MAKE POOR DOOR DEVELOPMENTS ILLEGAL ALTOGETHER!!!!
This is a fantastic victory for allwho took part - and I mean ALL WHO TOOK PART - IN THE
YEAR LONG POOR DOORS CAMPAIGN AT NO.1 COMMERCIAL STREET
There is no doubt this was the campaign which brought POOR DOORS into public consciousness

Reversing anthropogenic climate change could be as simple as planting millions and
millions of trees. To get rid of approximately a quarter of the carbon stored in Earth's
atmosphere, a team of European researchers suggests that we plant some 500,000 million
trees throughout the planet. ---- The study, recently published in Science Magazine ,
suggests that perhaps the best solution to combat the current climate crisis would be to
increase the population of trees, which would drastically reduce the concentration of
carbon by-products in the atmosphere. The total plantation area suggested by the group of
scientists is around 0.9 billion hectares, an area equivalent to the entire United States.
---- According to Professor Tom Crowther of ETH-Zurich, lead author of the study, acting
now could reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by up to 25%. If we can, we could go
back in time and return to the values of concentration observed about a century ago.
It would be a phasing out of fossil fuels, and for the plan to be effective, we would need
several decades.
Planting today would take another 50 to 100 years, before the trees can efficiently absorb
the 200 billion metric tons of carbon in the atmosphere.
According to the study, even limiting the increase in global temperature to 1.5 ° C above
pre-industrial levels, the tree planting plan could progressively reduce carbon,
especially in tropical regions, which would help to contain even more the global increase
of temperatures.
It is a climate solution that can start today, is the least expensive and all humans on
the planet could participate. Crowther also points out that "it is a solution to climate
change that does not require that President Trump begin to immediately believe in climate
change, or that scientists find technological solutions to extract carbon dioxide from the
atmosphere."
Where to plant the trees
The study is mainly based on the analysis of 80,000 satellite images of the protected
forest regions of the world to evaluate the coverage of trees in each one of them.
Later they apply a software of cartography of Google Earth Engine, with the end to develop
a model of prediction of possible areas of growth of trees. More than half of the global
reforestation potential would be carried out in six countries: Russia, Canada, China,
Brazil, Australia and the United States.
Despite being an open-eyes plan, countries such as Brazil are currently moving in the
opposite direction, in terms of increasing forest areas. Deforestation in this region of
South America has been increasing, and the most recent satellite images show that every
minute, Amazon rainforest is lost equivalent to the surface of a football field.
With all the political battles that are underway around the world related to
deforestation, there is a part of the scientific community that does not approve of the
optimistic proposal presented by Crowther and his team.
Planting trees to absorb two thirds of the anthropogenic carbon accumulated to date sounds
too good to be true.
Professor Simon Lewis of University College London says the amount of carbon the study
said the trees would absorb was too high. In addition, he affirms that the study would not
have taken into account, the carbon that was already in the soil before planting the trees
or the hundreds of years it would take the trees to reach their maximum storage potential.

A friend of the Collectif recently had the chance to spend Loco Local, a self-managed
social space located in the city of Bonaventure, in Chaleur Bay, in Gaspésie. It is one of
the only areas of this type to survive in this region and this makes it an important place
for gathering and socializing for the sector's alternative environments. The room is not
always open. Luckily, during my visit, a nice participant came to visit. The area is very
large and includes a kitchen, a library corner "The Purple Page", a staging area and a
corner for the self-service sale of eco-friendly household products in bulk. The operation
is ensured by a pool of people who maintains good time after more than 4 years of
existence and despite a cost of renting the premises which remains quite high. As we have
experienced locally with the defunct Free Social Space in Chicoutimi (2016-2017), the
sustainability of these self-managed projects remains a challenge at all times - a
challenge that appears particularly difficult in our peripheral region contexts (we had
erected alittle review of our local experience ). Loco Local operates on a self-financing
basis through the voluntary contributions of members, the rental of premises to other
organizations and the sale of ecological household products in bulk.
The Purple Page Library, which identifies itself as feminist, trans, queer and inclusive,
is a new project that was launched on April 3, this year. It is a space outside the
normative codes to discuss and read and it is possible to borrow books on such topics as
feminism, queer, anarchism, intersectionality and social struggles. Office hours at the
library were held Wednesday evening from 18h. You can contact the library via email at
collectiflapagepourpre@gmail.com. As we noted in our last regional bulletin Le Pic-Bois,
devoted to LGBTQphobie , despite some advances, the oppression is persistent and remains
very keen for people. Genderqueer and non-binary people from Gaspésie (Chandler and
Chaleur Bay respectively) testified about this in two interviews conducted in recent years
(see here and here).). Intersectional thinking calls us to bring down all oppression
systems. Such a library provides an essential place for LGBTQ + people to meet, discuss,
network and self-organize with the accomplices deemed relevant. Faced with the
aggressions, the harassment, the discriminations and the invisibilisation that we observe
in our region, we can only hope that these places multiply and tend solidarily the hand to
offer support to their activities.
Hello to the self-managed corner of Bonaventure! (I left you copies of our latest Cause
Commune Express newspaper on the struggle for the Saguenay Fjord ).

We are approaching the 7th International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners. Six
years ago we called you to show your solidarity with our fellow members from around the
world. Trials in Italy, France, Germany and Russia are increasingly leading anarchists to
the mouth of the penitentiary system. ---- It is our duty, for those who are not in
prison, to help our comrades fulfill their condemnations knowing that they are not alone
in their struggle. You may not know these people. You may not speak your language and most
likely never meet them. But by your actions you demonstrate that they are welcome in this
world. More welcome than prison guards and judges. More than presidents and kings. So let
your solidarity flow through the prison walls and fight until everyone is free!
We look forward to hearing your stories of actions and events. Then send them to
tillallarefree@riseup.net .
At the end of the week we will summarize these events.

After six years, we are re-launching the IFA news web site, which will (in) regularly
report on the activities of our sister organizations and other events in the countries
where the International Anarchist Federations operate. ---- In the first re-issue, we will
look especially into Greece. As our local APO friends regularly tell us, the new
right-wing government will probably try to gain political points through attacks on the
anarchist district of Exarchia, which has been out of control of the police and
authorities for many years, and its people in many cases manage it themselves. Recently,
there was an incident in which the police sniffed again in the Exarchy, after which they
were brought out of the area by a group of fifty armed anarchists. The new democracy, the
winner of the Greek elections, was told in response to the incident that it would vacate
the Exarchy. Whether he decides to take such a step, we can leave it at the level of
speculation, but it is clear that Exarchia will not give up without a fight. Indeed, local
anarchists have already expressed their views on political parties during the elections
when they invaded the polling station, they picked up the urn and burned the ballot papers
on Exarchia Square. The elections in this district therefore had to be repeated.
In connection with Greece, we also recall that there is a continuing solidarity campaign
for the recovery of the Libertaria squat, which in January was the victim of an arson
attack by the fascists. Of course, wild social struggles will not even be possible without
repression; there are currently solidarity actions under Nikos and Giorgos, members of the
anarchist group Rouvikonas. They are tried for spraying political slogans on the facade of
a historic building. The 30,000 euros deposit for each was selected in a few months thanks
to international solidarity, but the court continues. We remind you that Rouvikonas is
incredibly active as a group and has had dozens of often very creative direct actions, as
reported by the OAF .
The British and German AF are fully engaged in the struggle for climate justice, in which
local anarchists are actively involved. Bulgarian FAB celebrates one very nice anniversary
- 100 years since the foundation of the first anarchist federation in Bulgaria. A number
of lectures and workshops will be held in the framework of this anniversary and several
publications will be published. Let us mention, for example, an anarchist calendar
containing important personalities of Bulgarian anarchism.
Most IFAs also regularly publish anarchist publications, whether they are British (
Organise! ), German speaking ( Gaidao ), French speaking ( Le Monde Libertaire ) or us (
Existence ).
