Recently, we witnessed a new example of the struggle of workers to improve working
conditions, which ended quickly, but which showed the opportunities and difficulties for
workers' struggles outside official unions. ---- The drivers of the JKP Autotransport
company of Pancevo presented to the management of the company, at the end of August, a
request for salary increase. The average salary of drivers is so far about 45,000 dinars
(380 euros) and their request was to raise the net salary to 70,000 dinars (600 euros),
under the threat of a strike on Monday, September 2 if their request was not satisfied.
"We are asking for a salary increase based on the work we do. Particular attention is also
given to the bad working conditions: the buses are in very bad condition, the wages are
insufficient, the cost of the life is in constant increase. ". The arguments of the
drivers are completely justified, even if their salaries may be slightly above average in
Serbia, they are still too low to cover the cost of living. This is particularly true if
workers have families, children for whom they have to pay for education, family member
unemployed, a rent to pay, all situations which are very common. This is one of the main
reasons why many drivers have left the company in recent years and that employees have
gone from 170 to 120 in a short time.
Although representatives of two large yellow unions already exist within the JKP company
in Pancevo, the drivers, apparently aware of the fraudulent nature of these unions serving
the interests of the boss and the state, have decided to act in self-organized manner.
Thus, on 2d of September, in the absence of a positive response from the management, 49 of
them presented certificates of temporary absence from work (sick leave) until further
notice. It should be kept in mind that, in addition, 20 other drivers were on vacation.
Thus this creative approach and this method of combat have allowed drivers who are not
part of a "representative" union and therefore prohibited from strike legally to suspend
work without being legally liable for the consequences. Their action completely paralyzed
public transport in Pancevo, since only a quarter of the planned trips were actually made.
The management immediately realized that the drivers were serious and it has been forced
to react. Of course, as always, the bosses did it using the most heinous methods and
trying to deceive and frighten the rebel workers, in order to continue to keep their big
slice of the cake for themselves. During the interviews with the boss, the workers were
informed that "the economic conditions did not allow to increase their wages" and were
offered instead an aid of 10,000 dinars per month (85 euros) until the end of the year .
The drivers flatly refused this alms, but a series of intimidations by the media followed,
spreading the lie that this movement would force the company to go bankrupt, that everyone
would lose their job and that the transport would then be taken in charge by a private
company. Official yellow unions, known to have calmed and undermined all previous strikes,
and for making boss-friendly agreements, condemned the strike and condemned the strikers,
claiming that they intentionally sought to bring bankruptcy proceedings. Unfortunately, the
drivers gave in to pressure and accepted the punctual help offered.
It is clear to all that people struggling for a dignified life are neither guilty nor
responsible for the downfall of public enterprises, nor that improving their miserable
living conditions will contribute to it. The destruction of these businesses has been
unfolding for decades and it is clear that they are still being executed by administrators
(often with the support of politicians) to privatize and completely enrich some individuals.
Although the drivers failed to reach their initial goal, in the absence of better
organization and user support, they showed the power the working class had in their hands
and how it was possible to force the state and the bosses to react and make concessions.
It is now necessary to take these measures even more seriously and to create
infrastructure conditions - by creating non-corrupt and combative unions.

But in Chile, normality couldn't be held anymore, and we don't want to hold it here. We
won't allow the world leaders to meet and design the destruction under the look of

been destroying all this time, as if they wouldn't carry thousands of corpses on their

The potential of these 'anniversary' revolts was only tempered by the rise of social
democracy in government, with the victory of PASOK. in the '81 elections. That is, the

By the same token, the right-wing ruling party is trying to rationalize another major

from the social fabric. In this way it beats the anarchist and broader progressive

shoots emerging in the form of concentrations and routes against the transfer and
settlement of refugees in various parts of northern Greece (Vrasna Halkidiki, Giannitsa,

provide fertile ground for the development of fascist and Nazi, xenophobic groups is the
knife-wielding of a first-grade Gymnasium student originating in Iran in the Neapolis area

At the same time, the government has declared war on the wider movement, and in particular
its anarchist part, by threatening to evacuate many occupied sites of high symbolic

a tomorrow in which they will at least survive on the basics. The racist hatred of

budget cuts. Users and employees are the first victims of this policy of breaking the
public service. But from medico-social to EHPAD, associative social work to home care, the
entire sector is impoverished. ---- The closing of beds and services, the permanent
under-staffing and the job cuts: all this exhausts us on a daily basis. The quality of
care has deteriorated for too long. ---- In all hospitals, revolt spreads ---- Following
on from the exemplary emergency strike that began in the spring of 2018, today the entire
sector is on strike and on the streets ! The movements that are being built everywhere
show that unity and determination scare the ministry.
For self-managed social security
We want public health independent of the logic of profit and independent of governments
who give gifts on gifts to private health groups. The care must be provided with the same
