These missionaries are going to spread disease and death to isolated tribes. Sign Now Deare friends, The rapid spread of COVID-19 across the globe has left cities, countries, and entire continents reeling. It is a reminder that disease knows no human borders. That’s why it is so shameful that Ethnos360, a Christian mission organization, has announced that they plan to enter the remote Western Amazon by way of helicopter to contact and convert indigenous groups there. Because these tribespeople are isolated, they do not have the immunities to diseases that other communities across the globe have from generations of exposure. In fact, Ethnos360 traveled to Brazil for a mission in 1987 and imported diseases, such as malaria, that killed almost a quarter of a tribe there. Reports later surfaced that missionaries were sexually abusing the tribe's young girls. Will they not learn from past mistakes? This is more than negligence. It's murder. Too many times in history have innocent indigenous populations been devastated by the disease brought by missionaries or colonizers. Sign the petition and demand that Ethnos360 abandon their mission and leave the tribesmen and women of the Amazon alone. If they truly care about their futures, there is only one way to show it — by staying away.
