Dogs are normally kind, protective presences on farms: herding sheep and cattle, standing guard at night, and becoming unlikely playmates and friends to the other animals. But a group of men in Galicia, Spain have turned this precious role on its head by training their dogs using heinous methods to go on and attack, maim, and even kill innocent captive livestock — including one pig, a cow, and an untold number of others. Then, to make it worse, the perpetrators proudly published several videos of the violent abuse online.
In one video, they force three dogs to circle and viciously attack a lone cow, tied up and unable to defend itself or run. In a second video, a dog is sicced on a helpless pig while a man's voice offscreen compells it to "keep going." That poor cow and pig are not the only animals suffering because of these men's cruelty. There is no way to tell how many additional animals have been subjected to this torture and brutality. The dogs are also victims, since this level of aggression is almost always the result of fear and abuse inflicted by humans. We cannot waste another instant while these dogs and farm animals are at these people's mercy. Sign the petition if you want the Spanish authorities in Galicia to find and prosecute the makers of these recordings!
