#WORLD #WORLDWIDE #FRANCE #ANARCHISM #News #Journal #Update - (en) #France, #UCL - Back to #school, back to struggles (ca, de, it, fr, pt)[machine translation]

The students and high school students are preparing to start a new year with the

program: precariousness, pressure, lack of health and lack of means. ---- Back to
school rhymes with precariousness ---- For students, it will be another hard time
to find food or accommodation. The abolition of the 1 euro meal for all and the
too low purses risk leaving in food insecurity many of us. As for housing, it is
every year more difficult to find . Too little space in CROUS, unsanitary
conditions, rents too high, many are turning to private accommodation. But on
this side the rents keep increasing and the supporting documents requested by the
owners are always more numerous. Supporting documents often based on racist or
LGBTIphobic criteria, complicating access to housing for young people who are
already discriminated against on a daily basis.

For precarious high school students and their families, Minister Jean-Michel
Blanquer recently distinguished himself by his class contempt by suggesting that
the back-to-school allowance was used to buy "flat screens" rather than school
supplies ...

Sanitary lack of preparation
In our places of study, the health protocol remains insufficient and the
government relies on general vaccination without providing the means . Frédérique
Vidal had promised at the end of last year the establishment of vaccination
points on the outskirts of campuses, a promise not kept in a majority of
universities.

Vaccination must also be accompanied by a suitable health protocol . Without a
gauge, the lecture halls risk being overcrowded, and the same goes for high
school classes that are not large enough to accommodate everyone in good
conditions. The lack of personnel, equipment and buildings is still felt after a
year and a half of the pandemic.

As for student precariousness, this lack of preparation results from budget cuts
and reforms in the service of a capitalist management of universities and high
schools making savings at all costs to the detriment of the general interest. It
is also an authoritarian management which imposes contradictory and insufficient
measures, feeding an ambient conspiracy, dangerous for all.

Faced with abandonment: mobilization!
This re-entry marked by student precariousness and health unpreparedness clearly
shows that young people should not expect anything from politicians, and on the
contrary mobilize themselves . There are many avenues of struggle and demand,
including:

The repeal of the Research Programming Law and the cessation of funding for
Public Experimental Establishments resulting from it
A massive investment in public high schools and universities
Free access to CROUS and restaurant U
The establishment of a student salary
The requisition of vaccination equipment
Student unions remain a tool to be invested in this. The inter-professional
mobilization of October 5 will also be an opportunity to bring forward these
demands and to organize collectively in self-management to pull them off.
