 For 10 days, hundreds of undocumented workers in Ile-de-France have started a

strike for their regularization. Carrying out the most thankless jobs, but also
those which make turn our daily life, they are over-exploited by the bosses who
take advantage of the situation. In construction, in catering, in delivery, in
garbage collection: it's simple, our company would not run without them. ----
Many of them work unpaid overtime or have to accept pay below the minimum wage.
Some are self-employed, which means that they do not pay for unemployment, are
deprived of the protection of the Labor Code and collective agreements [1]. In
any case, their working conditions are terrible but they cannot denounce them for
fear of being fired.

They also have to experience racism on a daily basis, police harassment, life in
often unsuitable housing.

Since October 22, they have been on strike. Supported by the CGT on 11 pickets in
91, 93, 94 and Paris, and supported by the Collective of Undocumented Workers of
Vitry on a picket in Gennevilliers (92). The strike is the most effective way to
show the importance of their work. They work here, they live here, they stay here!

It is a strike that has particular importance in the period of the rise of the
far-right that we are living, but also of increasingly uninhibited racism.
Striking undocumented workers are becoming visible to those who did not want to
see them, who pretended not to know that our society relies on workers, whether
they have documents or not.

Several pickets are already victorious. Everyone will win, because the bosses
will have to bow to organized workers !
