Attacks against trans people by activists who are radical feminists in name are
on the rise. These acts are rooted in the context of transmogyny which permeatessociety and which can be expressed with violence. ---- Trans women[1]are women,we cannot repeat it enough: their place in feminism is legitimate. However, theyare challenged every day. Within feminism, an anti-trans current has thusdeveloped, whose activists are called TERFs (Trans Exclusionnary RadicalFeminists, or radical feminists excluding trans people).Lesbian Resistance, a group from this current, during the pride of June 26 inParis, took the lead of the demonstration, with banners, slogans and transphobicsigns. If their transphobia also targeted trans men and non-binary people[2]wecan note their vehemence against trans women and transfeminine people[3].Sasha[4], of the transfeminist media XY Média, tried to oppose them before beingarrested and patted down by the police. We give it our full support.Pride de Paris, Red photo libraryTransfeminist counter-powersThis situation leads us to the conclusion that the security of trans women andtransfeminine people is insufficient in LGBTI struggles. Faced with the violenceof men, TERFs, the police, and the lack of reactions from witnesses, we mustreact collectively.Denouncing the lack of organization of Inter-LGBT (behind pride) is certainlyimportant, because criticism is vital to move forward, but insufficient.Isolation is not a solution, we must support trans, LGBTI and feminist struggles, invest the checks and balances and make them safe and combative. On the one hand, support transfeminist solidarity initiatives, and on the other hand, bring realsolidarity to our areas of struggle, the only means to instigate social change.A central point of this solidarity must be that of other women, who in feministcircles could establish an anti-transphobic and anti-transmissogyne dynamic. However, the violence that befalls trans women in the feminist milieu does notcome specifically from the latter but from a deeply transphobic and sexistsociety which, through the prison and medical systems as well as by the state andthe capital. kill, harass, assault and maim in the streets and in their homes. From this perspective, the entire social movement must position itself againsttransmogyny and more broadly against transphobia and LGBTIphobias. The socialmovement, the LGBTI and feminist movements must seize the slogans of thetransfeminist movement, create solidarities, structures of struggle and mutualaid and follow words with actions.Transphobic, sexist and cops, out of our prides, out of our lives!UCL's LGBTI working groupTo validate[1]" Trans " designates a person who intends to live or who has experienced atransition to change social group of sex. For example, trans women want or havetransitioned to that of women.[2]The gender of a non-binary person is neither strictly feminine nor strictlymasculine.[3]Transfeminine people are non-binary people close to the female gender.[4]Video of Sasha following the Pride , " The TERFs at the Pride of Paris:negligence and complicit indifference ", on YouTube.https://www.unioncommunistelibertaire.org/?Transmisogynie-Nous-n-en-voulons-plus-dans-le-feminisme_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
