Two decades have passed since the popular rebellion that marked a milestone in
the recent political history of our country. An outbreak, which as such, was theresult of an accumulation of systematic attack on the situation in which those ofus below live daily; as a result of the policies systematically implemented sincethe dictatorship to impose an economic and social model that benefits theconcentrated sectors of the economy, that reinforces the economic-productivematrix of the country and that favors especially speculative financial capital, hegemonic at that time in the reality of the country.A lot of analyzes have been made of that feat and the years that followed. It isdifficult to take stock of what we won and the outcome of many of the proposalsand proposals - both demanding and organizational - that were made in those years. We all know by now that the "let everyone go" was partially materialized(Bullrich, López Murphy, Aníbal Fernández, Gustavo Beliz are still on stage),that much of the struggle was institutionalized and that today we are at levelsof poverty and precariousness that refer us to those times. It is important to highlight some elements to take into account, which led tothat feat of popular rebellion.First of all, that context exposed the firmness with which the political classand the dominant sectors exhausted all resources in order to save therepresentative democratic system and institutions, in a context of emptiness andsocial calamity. On the other hand, that situation also exhibited the always latent decision ofthe State to crush the rebellion and the social outbreak - looting, cacerolazos, pickets, mobilizations - at any cost, killing dozens of people, taking federalforces out onto the streets and even evaluating the possibility of commanding thearmy if the situation required it. Situation that was repeated innumerably duringthese twenty years by all the provincial and national governments, even today wesee it in fierce repression in Chubut to the popular struggle against mega-mining.We also have to emphasize that, although there was an effervescent socialclimate, of great resistance to each adjustment measure, there was a lack ofarticulation and coordination between the popular sectors and theirorganizations, which we would define as a Front of Oppressed Classes, eitheramong the neighborhood movements, indigenous peoples organizations, studentgroups and the most combative unions, which was later felt in the days after thepresidential resignations, a space that was filled by the neighborhood assembliesbut did not become superior. But the central point of that rebellion, which leaves lessons to this day, in thecurrent struggles, has to do with the validity of direct action as a method ofstruggle and organization to resist and advance against the project of society ofthose from above. that it does not include us at all and that day by day itraises worse living conditions for the popular sectors.Struggle, organization, projection, class independence are some of the premisesthat the experience of 2001 reinforces us and that must challenge us in these times.https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=324759629652278&id=100063547308480_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
