The *FRAP - UCL (anti-patriarchal commission of the group) signatory of this
text. ---- Small return on the demonstration of 27/11 against sexist and sexualviolence: NO we do not need men or antifa virilos to defend us. ---- Yes, theextreme right in Lyon is a danger. ---- Yes, the extreme right in Lyon regularlyattacks our demonstrations, and anti-fascist, feminist and / or LGBTQI activists.Yes, at each event we think about the best way to ensure our protection, in themost collective way possible. ---- Yes, most of the organizations that aremembers of the Collectif Droits des Femmes 69 are aware of this threat and arecommitted to the fight against the extreme right. What happened on Saturday November 27 is serious.About twenty guys (and a few women) who did not belong to the various structuresof the Women's Rights Collective 69 organizing the march proclaimed themselves tobe a parallel security service. They marched either on the sides in front of thedemo or on the sides of the demo, adopting an attitude in order, they said, toensure safety, "our" safety. They also spoke of our inability to defend ourselvesin the event of an attack from the far right.Despite our attempts to discuss with them and make them understand that theirvirilist attitude was inappropriate and contravened the wishes of thedemonstrators, the organizers and the unitary service, the discussions with themturned in circles and intimidation or comments inadmissible were heard such as:"we hope that the fascists will attack, they will be less clever after".This attitude is detestable and scandalous in several ways:First, because it crushes the collective organization between differentstructures and calls it into question. These individuals have thus refused torecognize our own security service, despising the collective work that we arecarrying out within the CDF.Then, and above all, because it perpetuates a macho and virilist attitude that wefight and which was the object of this demonstration since sexism is the root ofthe violence that we suffer. In a feminist march, against sexist and sexual violence, a group overwhelminglymade up of men arrogates to themselves the right to pose as "protectors" and"experts" in the fight against the extreme right. These individuals have refused to recognize that feminists have the capacity tomanage their own security on their own. So this is the anti-fascist struggle inLyon? Fingers of honor (which we will recall in passing the misogynistic andhomophobic character)? Individuals who do not recognize the collectiveorganization of this demonstration, who despise activists, who frighten some ofthe demonstrators? Threatening individuals towards a unitary SO made up largelyof chicks and queer people? We choose to organize SOs who do not have an authoritarian and virilist attitude, who are mixed to protect us and protect the demonstrators It is abnormal thatactivists, because they are part of an SO, be insulted and intimidated duringdemonstrations. We do not believe that the fight against the fascists passes through physicalforce, machismo and aggressiveness towards feminists. We believe that as feminists we can defend and organize ourselves without theprotection of men.We denounce all virilist and sexist attitudes wherever they come from. Weconsider to have been denigrated and denied in our autonomy and in what we defend. We also denounce the systematic use of sexist and homophobic insults in ourprocessions. It is unbearable for us to hear insults such as "bitches", "bigbitch", "motherfuckers" or "fuck your mother" in our demonstrations. Why alwaysfeminize insults against fascists or the police? How should mothers, always mothers and never fathers, be made responsible? Whyuse terms referring to a female sexuality that escapes male control such asinsults, whether it is a sexuality deemed unbridled ("slut")? Why consider thepractice of sodomy as worthy of insult? These insults participate in and maintainthe culture of rape and homophobia. The use of such sexist and homophobic slurs, despite our attempts to discuss the subject, tramples our feminist and LGBTIstruggles.By their attitude, they have deliberately created a feeling of insecurity andthreat within a feminist demonstration against violence which must precisely be aplace where we must be able to feel free to express ourselves, to claim, to besurrounded. supportive comrades and not "comrades" who use a chauvinist attitudeand verbal violence to intimidate us.This cannot go on any longer, these actions were not acceptable on November 27,2021, nor will they be in the future. We demand that these virilist behaviorscease in demonstrations and gatherings as well as in all militant eventsorganized in Lyon, whether they are feminist or not. We call on all associative, political and trade union organizations to no longer tolerate this intimidationand violence in demonstration on the part of so-called "comrades".Even if we are angry, these facts will not succeed in denting our pride in havingbeen able to demonstrate against gender-based and sexual violence and to havebeen able, once again, to affirm our will to end this violent patriarchal systemand unequal. We are proud to have opposed our demands and our collective strengthto the violence to which we are subjected. It is therefore the very positive side of this event that we will remember: theorganization of a very beautiful event with very many and many participants, great energy, determined and protesting processions! We are proud, strong, feminist and angry! The struggle continues!https://www.facebook.com/UnionCommunisteLibertaireLyon/posts/2051002055068200_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
