On Friday afternoon, a symbolic intervention was carried out for the murders in
the neighborhood of Faliro. Specifically, texts were distributed to the residentsand employees of the area, and then 2 banners were hung, one in the occupiedLibertatia and one in the park of Et3. ---- the text that was shared follows ----NO OTHER KILLED ---- The latest cases of female homicide, that of the 55-year-oldin Thessaloniki who was shot by her ex-husband with a carbine because she hadabandoned him, and the 29-year-old in Alex / polis who was violently beaten todeath, are added to a list of women who in recent years they lose their lives atthe hands of a man. In 2021 alone, a total of 17 women (officially registered)have been murdered because of their gender. Homicide is not an instantaneousevent, it is the culmination of patriarchal violence, which is present as anintegral part of state and capitalist barbarism.For the last 2 years we have been living in an unprecedented condition, that of apandemic, with the state not only not taking the necessary protection measures(strengthening health, education, structures of excluded groups, MMM), butinstead sowing death and terrorism. In this context, the authoritarianpatriarchal system is even more attacking women of the lower social strata. Injust one year, at the same time as the 17 murders of women, we witnessed thepublication of rape attempts, rapes, trafficking cases with the concealment ofthe police and its political bosses, allegations of sexual harassment and torturein police stations, concealment of child rape circuits, and female pornographywith the most recent event being that of the well-known satirical show presenter, S.It is absolutely clear that what arms the hands of rapists and murderers andwashes away their crimes is a whole system, which has a name and is calledpatriarchy, state and capitalism. The perpetrators are nurtured, encouraged,armed and in the end covered up and justified by the prevailing values and thesame mechanisms. Because gender-based violence is systemic violence and is anintegral part of state and capitalist barbarism. The state bodies that proclaimthat they care about the elimination of violence against women, by organizingcampaigns and workshops against it, are the ones who daily reproduce genderstereotypes, the same ones who reproduce the oppression of women. They are theones who dismiss pregnant women, acquit rapists and murderers,As fighters, as anarchists and as women, we can only stand in solidarity witheach other and all together to organize and fight from one end to the other allover the earth, together with all the oppressed of this world, side by side andtogether with our comrades, having taken a fighting position against the rottenworld of Power. In the face of the harsh reality reserved for us by the rulersall over the planet, we propose the organization of those from below and theclaim of those who belong to us.
