On January 27th, 2020 there was the first proven Covid case in Germany. Since
then, various measures and rules have accompanied us. The thrust of the measures
was from the beginning: Restrict your private life, but keep going to work. There
were full open-plan offices, factories and buses and trains (full of commuters),
while you were not allowed to meet more than two people outside at the same time,
the police chased young people through parks and you were not allowed to leave
your apartment after 11 p.m. This list of medically irrational measures could go
on forever.

And to be clear: It's not about partying ruthlessly in our free time, it's about
pretending that the virus isn't spreading at work.

Now it is often objected that certain tasks must continue even during a pandemic
and yes, that is true. But there was and still is a shit on good health
protection in the systemically relevant professions. Remember that there were not
enough masks for nurses and these are constantly being revised. And the question
arises as to which important tasks, for example, a call center or the assembly of
airplanes and cars exactly represent.

So why all this? Why did we have to limit ourselves in private, but when you had
to go to work it was ok again? The answer is, profit always comes first for the
state. This state also finances itself from the fact that companies make profits
by exploiting us. The capitalist shop has to run, regardless of whether people
get sick or even die in the process. Of course, this also means that not too many
workers are allowed to become permanently ill or even die, after all capital is
dependent on us. This inhuman offsetting of profit and human life, in which
profit always comes first, is of course also reflected in all other areas of
fighting the pandemic:
Only a small part of the population temporarily had access to FFP2 masks from the
state. It depends on the wallet whether people can afford good protection in the
long term and do not have to wear the same mask over and over again. The reason
for this? Making FFP2 masks available to everyone free of charge reduces profits.
The same applies to tests: the test options were and still are too few: for a
long time, you were only allowed to do a maximum of one quick test per week free
of charge. For us, this means that only people with enough money can be tested
permanently and everyone else has to choose between savings and the security of
their health. In the meantime, it would also be possible to use the much more
precise PCR tests without any problems, but that is simply too expensive. Fact on

Logically, the measures also differentiate between rich and poor. They gave the
police instructions to primarily check people who did not have large private
properties on which they could meet. Migrants, young people and actually everyone
whose social life doesn't take place in the big garden because they don't have
one were targeted by the police. For example, the SPD interior senator from
Hamburg was able to celebrate private parties at home while three people had to
pay fines on a park bench. Of course, Tönnies, as the epitome of poor
occupational safety and non-compliance with measures, had nothing to fear!

by the state, while simply imprisoning migrant workers in their after-work
tenements to maintain his slaughterhouse production! As a consequence, this meant
that every compensation, much of what is still somehow pleasant next to the shit
in this society during the pandemic, was taken and was only possible for those
with thick wallets. We as workers were reduced to what we are for the rulers
anyway: we should work and shop. Our answer to this is, above all, to fight
against the unreasonable demands of this society, which makes a balance so

This way of fighting the pandemic also meant that even more social tasks were
shifted to unpaid and often invisible housework, which affected and still affects
women in particular. For example, they simply relied on the children being taken
care of somehow when school, kindergarten and daycare were closed.

In addition, the capitalists made stupid and dopey money during the pandemic. In
Germany, the wealth of the richest increased by an average of 78%. The state
doesn't say anything about tax increases for the wealthy. While aid financed from
taxpayers' money flowed partly into dividends, salaries and the like, the poor
will ensure that every cent comes back.

We, on the other hand, want an economic system that is geared to the needs of the
people!

In order to prevent the crisis from being passed on to us, to eliminate the
crappy working conditions and to enforce an effective fight against the pandemic,
with free FFP2 masks and PCR tests and a solidarity approach to people who do not
understand them as working robots, only pressure and organization helps. We don't
get anything for free, we have to wrest it from the state and capital.
