The PSOE-UP government has reached an agreement with the self-styled "social
agents" (leaders of the CCOO and UGT unions, and the CEOE and CEPYME employers'organizations), by which the labor reforms of 2010 and 2012 are NOT repealed,failing to comply with that their own electoral promises, the governmentagreements and the reiterated commitments to the values of social justice andequity, which will remain, if the parliamentary majority endorses the agreement,in deceitful and empty propaganda. ---- These past Christmas holidays havebrought "very bitter nougat" for workers and pensioners. The two "reforms" havebeen implemented, labor and pensions, as dictated by the interests of capital andthe Brussels oligopolies. But it is not a minor detail that these reforms andcuts in public pensions and labor and social rights have been promoted by asupposedly "progressive" coalition government, and with the complicity of theunion leaders of some unions (CCOO and UGT ) that they say they are".These "conciliation" unions are absolutely delegitimized to sell the labor rightsof the entire working population, since the sum of their affiliation onlyrepresents 8.5% of the total, but they do not represent the remaining 91.5%.The labor reforms of 2010 and 2012 (PSOE and PP, respectively) represented abefore and after for the rights of working people. Since then, free and cheap(individual and collective) dismissal, the legalization of abuses of all kinds,the annihilation of collective bargaining, and the de facto annulment of theright to effective judicial protection for working people, have framed asituation of labor exploitation and growing precariousness, in the midst ofstructural unemployment, which in the case of youth borders on 50%.But this "NO DEROGATION" of the labor reforms has not yet been endorsed by theCongress of Deputies, and we must do everything possible so that it is notapproved. For this reason, from the truly class unions, and the social sectors,different mobilizations have been called, such as the one that will take place inMadrid on February 3 before the Congress of Deputies, coinciding with theparliamentary debate on the reform.
