guarded detainees find themselves alone for so long ? The French state must shed
light on what happened. ---- Corsican independence activists have since been
mobilizing to obtain justice and the truth about this attempted murder.
Spontaneous rallies took place the same evening. The following day, the
pro-independence student unions blocked the University of Corsica. The same day,
the unionists of the port prevented the landing of CRS reinforcements. This
Sunday, March 6, a demonstration was held in Corti bringing together around
15,000 people.

This demonstration, thought of as pacifist, was violently repressed leaving 24
injured. The French State had mobilized 1500 CRS. There was clearly a desire to
degenerate the mobilization. The responsibility for the violence lies with the
prefecture. Note also that the request for semi-freedom of Alain Ferrandi (member
of the Erignac commando) accepted by the judges was suspended by the appeal of
the prosecution. Between the continued detention of the latter and the repression
of the demonstration of support for Yvan Colonna, it seems clear that the
doctrine of the State has not changed since Jacques Chirac. This one declared in
1997 that "The assassins will be punished because they are the assassins of a man
but also the enemies of the Republic".

For several months, we have been witnessing a hardening of the positions of the
French state in the face of demands for autonomy and independence. The farce of
the 3rd referendum in Kanaky, the repression of the unions in Martinique and
Guadeloupe and maintaining order in Corsica. Imperialism is hardening. This
hardening will encourage the radicalization of independence activists. In
Corsica, this means the risk of a return to armed struggle. The French State will
bear the responsibility.

The French imperialist state made the choice of hardening and authority. As for
us, we defend a political solution that involves:
-Justice and truth for Yvan Colonna ;
-Immediate reconciliation of all separatist prisoners. Opening of a debate on
amnesties.

In the longer term, we defend the self-determination of peoples.

We support the minors who were injured by the police during the demonstrations
this week as well as the united demonstration on Sunday 13 in Bastia.
