The anarcho-syndicalist organization describes as shameful the attitude of the
Government of PSOE and United We Can in the face of the brutal repression exertedon defenseless human beings ---- The General Confederation of Labor (CGT),through a statement from its Permanent Secretariat, has carried out a appeal toall citizens to support the protest actions called for this first of July indifferent cities of Spanish territory, against the murders of migrants lastweekend in the autonomous city of Melilla. ---- The anarcho-syndicalistorganization has shown its absolute rejection of these murders, and has statedthat it shares the pain and outrage of victims and relatives at the death of atleast 37 people who were trying to access Melilla through its border fence withMorocco .CGT denounces that numerous graphic documents demonstrate the attacks ondefenseless people, who are only fleeing from horror and poverty, carried out bythe Moroccan Gendarmerie with the complicity of the Spanish State Security Forcesand Corps, who collaborated to repress and carry out hot returns on the samefence. In this sense, the CGT has recalled that forced returns are contrary toInternational Law, which also imposes the right "to treat all migrants withdignity and prioritize their safety and Human Rights", and has recalled thatprecisely the options politicians that today make up the Government of Spainharshly criticized these actions when they were part of the political opposition.CGT has also transferred in this statement the shame of the actions and thestatements made by the President of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, after learningof the tragedy in Melilla. Sánchez, who has come to justify the actions of thepolice forces, has forgotten the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, aguarantee that any person should have regardless of where they were born.CGT considers that the treatment that has been given to these migrants at theMelilla border cannot be considered "international cooperation", but murder withimpunity.
