On Friday, July 22, 2022, three of our comrades, YAT commander Jiyan Tolhidan,
YPJ commander Roj Xabur and YAT member fighter Barîn Botan were killed by aTurkish drone strike. This is just the high point of an ongoing strategy that iscreating an environment of terror and fear. Especially women are quickly becomingtargets of these cowardly attacks. In 48 hours, six of our comrades, includingfour members of the YPJ, were killed and several others were injured by fourdrone attacks in the territory of Rojava. These incidents are in line with 56drone strikes carried out in the year 2022 alone, which killed 27 people andinjured 74 others. Among the dead and injured are our comrades, as well ascivilians of all genders and ages.While Turkey officially threatens with a full-scale invasion of the liberatedzones of Northern and Eastern Syria, they continue with their slander that inreality the occupation of Afrin in 2018 has never ceased. What we face is theso-called war oflow-intensity, a military strategy that uses a variety of different tactics thatinclude extrajudicial executions, the support and use of proxy groups (such asthe SNA and ISIS), economic pressure, cutting off water and electricity supplies,movingdemographics and psychological warfare rather than full-scale military occupation.This type of war produces continuous attacks while keeping levels below one"large-scale attack" that would provoke greater political and media attention in thewestern societies. The numerous attacks try to normalize the war and makepeople get used to these attacks. It creates a state of insecurity.These attacks are not isolated cases, but form part of a broader strategy.and well-planned, which aims to destroy the revolution and eradicate the Kurdishpeople. throughthe use of drone strikes, such as the one that murdered three of our comrades inFriday, try to spread the feeling that no one is safe and that the StateTurk has absolute power to decide when and where to end his life, that with aA simple push of a button can drop the bomb. The psychological effect of thisstrategyit is effective in the sense that it can make people want to leave their land. OneOne of Erdogan's goals is precisely this: to drive the Kurdish people from theirland andto settle in its place a foreign population loyal to the Turkish regime.Another tactic that the Turkish State is using is to carry out so-calledfalse flag. In the recent Turkish state attacks on a holiday center in Zaxo,in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq), nine tourists died, including a child,and more than 23 were injured. The Turkish state issued a statement stating that theattack was carried out by the PKK. By accusing others of being guilty of their ownattacks, the Turkish State is creating a reason to legitimize its militarypresence andyour actions. This military approach is not limited to the attack on Rojava. Inaddition, the stateTurco is using various methods of low-intensity warfare against allliberated zones of Kurdistan including Shengal, MAxmur and the zones controlledby theguerrilla warfare in the mountains of northern, eastern and southern Kurdistan.In addition to most of the world's media, they are ignoring attacks oncourse, we observed that the solidarity movement with Rojava is waiting for thecalled "Day X" to start a larger campaign against a fascist regime thanreality never stopped its war against Rojava. We consider this to be an approachinsufficient that is not up to the situation we face. the answer ofcontinuous, varied and brutal attack on the revolution has to be a permanent,creative andeffective resistance. There's no point in waiting, we're at war right now.As we write this statement, we are moved by the deep anger and rage thatrecent attacks have provoked. With the last attack, three friends were rippedfrom us. They wereour commanders, our teachers, our sisters, our pioneers and vanguards,our friends and comrades. They helped so many of us to find our place in thisrevolution, to develop, grow and get to know the reality of women's willpower.They taught us to use our love and our pain to fight for our future.Knowing that the Turkish State intends to destroy our spirit, we face it byconverting anger and pain into an even greater commitment to continue the fightagainst this murderous regime. We are more motivated than ever to develop andspread the women's revolution and the struggle of our dear fallen comrades.To our and our comrades, friends from all over the world, we ask you to stand upand defend the women's revolution with us.We gotta expose the state's dirty planTurkish and treat your attack for what it is: a war against a projectrevolutionary that especially concerns revolutionary women. One ofmost urgent demands is the creation of a No-Flight-Zone tostop the deadly air strikes against our comrades and the people. In additionFurthermore, we have to understand that this war is not just about the invasion plansTurkey, but also the multiple interests of Western states and NATO/NATO in theMiddle East. The struggle in Kurdistan is always related to the struggles in ourcountries.
