the neo-reformism of the NUPES, the social and trade union movement will now have
to relearn and defend its independence. But above all, we will have to stand up
against employers by promoting direct action and not delegating our power to act
to them. For that, we will have to convince our class that the extreme right will
never constitute an ally of circumstance.
The French political and social context is currently marked by unprecedented
electoral results in the elections. Indeed, the absence of an absolute majority
for the liberal government and the sum of the reformist left groups are to be
taken into account for the social movement, as well as the extremely worrying
presence of fascist deputies in number.

It is in this context that the government announces to keep its course of
capitalist policy to reform the retirement, to break the public service, etc. The
effects of the war in Ukraine are being felt more and more, inflation continues,
and poverty will not be solved by the few ad hoc and insufficient measures of the
government.

The parliamentary configuration obliges the government to form alliances and
weakens it. It is an opportunity for the social movement to no longer suffer from
the situation and to regain control by establishing a winning balance of power.

The social and trade union movement will now have to relearn and defend its
independence. Indeed, Jean-Luc Mélenchon has already called for a mobilization
date at the start of the school year, choosing to turn his back on the date
called by the inter-union on September 29.

The traditional strategy of social democracy claiming to be an emanation from the
labor movement in parliament is set aside to pose as a competition. Already, the
traditional call for the "third social round" had turned into a call for revenge
in the legislative elections. Never before, the NUPES or its figures have called
on workers to organize themselves in unions or strengthen counter-powers wherever
they are.

Yet this is what will allow our class to defend its interests directly. It will
of course have to put pressure on the reformist deputies who claim to represent
it so that they pursue the program on the basis of which they were elected. But
above all, we will have to stand up against employers by promoting direct action
and not delegating our power to act to them.

For that, we will have to convince our class that the extreme right will never
constitute an ally of circumstance. Indeed, the national assembly parliamentary
group will never be an opposition group, neither to Macron, nor to the interests
of employers. History shows us that fascism has never defended anything other
than the bourgeoisie who finance it.

The attack on social movements, and in particular the recent LGBTI pride marches,
or the attack across the Atlantic on the right to abortion (almost instantly
taken up in France) obviously seems to us to be additional proof, if needed, of
the incompatibility with our social project and the defense of our interests.

UCL undertakes to continue and amplify unitary efforts at local and national
level, to build these broad frameworks when they do not exist, and to bring
anti-fascist mobilizations to life everywhere.

The Union Communiste Libertaire will take all its responsibilities to bring to
life the autonomy of the social movement, popular anti-fascism, and defend the
interests of our social camp through our counter-powers. We will do this now and
in anticipation of a social return that we want to be massive, determined and
offensive. We call to join the inter-union call for mobilization of September 29
and build in the long term and in its aftermath, for our salaries, our pensions,
our life.
