Hi all! Today is Sunday, August 7th, and we continue our Order and Chaos Trends
podcast. This is episode 66. Here are the highlights of the past week's agenda.---- 1. "Where to go to study" ---- So, the time has come for students to findout whether they entered the coveted university or not. These are non-profitdepartments. This year, entering a university for young men and their parents hasbecome especially important. Everyone understands that despite governmentstatements, any eighteen-year-old graduate can be in the line of fire. Those whoare really "the smartest" tried to apply to foreign universities. Some evenentered, but some of the countries adjacent to Russia decided that they would nottrain Russian students in technical specialties, in case they would return totheir homeland and work for the military-industrial complex. Although forapplicants and professors, who were driven out of their universities for adiscrepancy in their views on the war and other domestic and foreign policy ofthe state, vacancies and internships began to appear in various foreignuniversities since the spring. The main thing is to know the language, mainlyEnglish. Since admission to a domestic university does not mean forever hidingfrom the army. From the state, if it really wants to get you, it is verydifficult to hide, it makes more sense to fight it with all available means. To what extent is the state itself interested in students? Well, if we take intoaccount that the benefits are primarily for any "Hitler Youth", that is, theYunarmiya, the children of the National Guard, and so on, and the police arevigilantly watching if any of the students have been noticed in anyfree-thinking, then you come to the conclusion that this is the most reasoningthe state is exactly like in the Arkanar of the Strugatsky brothers: "We don'tneed smart people, we need faithful ones."By the way, it is not surprising that most of the brain drains from the RussianIT sector, where relocation is carried out by whole teams and this process hasnot yet ended. So let's talk about brains.2. "Brainsiiiiii!!!"If we are talking about smart people who are not needed, then how not to recallthe words of the Spanish philosopher from Salamanca Miguel de Unamuno: "There isnothing worse than the union between the dementia of the barracks and the idiocyof the sacristy." For people opposing the war, not only universities, but alsopopular science sites were closed. For example, lectures by Asya Kazantseva, whodoes not hide her anti-war position, were canceled in St. Petersburg and NizhnyNovgorod. The lecture was titled "The Social Brain: Finding the Line BetweenCollaboration and Conformism." Well, yes, where is the brain and where is the"dementia of the barracks with the idiocy of the sacristy."3. In the field "birch" stoodBut the Beryozka store has been revived. Those who did not find Soviet times donot know that these were special stores, for people not even with dollars, butwith checks that they received while working in Soviet institutions abroad. In"Beryozka" such workers could exchange checks for foreign goods. Or evendomestic, but scarce or at a serious discount. By the way, this is about how inthe Soviet Union everyone was equal, but some were more equal than others. The current officials, cut off from foreign countries by sanctions, seem to yearnfor their "corrupting influence." In the meantime, ordinary Russians haveincreased expenses and debts. We don't know how it used to be, but in the lateUnion, the pioneers were told that if there are difficulties in the best countryin the world, it is because this country is opposed to the warmongers and it hasto spend a lot of resources on weapons to protect against them. In earlier Soviettimes, the pioneers were told about all sorts of enemies of the people and peststhat harm inside. Now they are called "national traitors" or even put onextremist lists. Pioneerism is going to be revived on the same scale, althoughunder a different name (the pioneer idea must somehow be made friends with the"idiocy of the vestry", "the idiocy of the barracks" in the pioneers has alwaysbeen enough).4. Pacifist extremistsBy the way, about the changes in the list of extremists and terrorists, whichcontinues to be replenished at the expense of opponents of the war. For example,on August 3, the former municipal deputy Nina Belyaeva, who openly opposed thewar with Ukraine, was included in this list. She managed to emigrate, and some ofher colleagues have already been sent to jail. And that's just talking abouthigh-profile cases. The state itself, while torturing, imprisoning, tearing it topieces with bombs and shells, does not consider itself either an extremist or aterrorist. However, no state thinks so.5. And the kid went to successTrue, this week the state had a puncture. Since for the time being it prefers toobserve the appearance of courts and examinations (including on what isrecognized as extremism), then officially an expert must have a special educationin the area in which he makes a conclusion, for that he is an expert. However, here's the bad luck, 22-year-old Danila Mikheev, who began his journeyby denunciations of activists, and later made a career from a cop witness to alinguistic expert, turned out not only to have a degree, but even a basicphilological education. From his so-called examinations, many were sent to jail.It was because of his "expertise" that OVD-Info was blocked for some time. Nowthe Ministry of Justice had to admit the incompetence of Danila Mikheev. If you think that the state has such experts only in the field of punishing theunwanted, then no, this practice has been established for a long time and in manyareas. Since "we do not need smart people, we need faithful ones." (With)6.
