The struggle of workers is a lesson that the struggle takes place every day,
which inspires us to believe that a better world is possible and that it is builtin the present. In 1988, once again the State showed who it is on the side andfor whom it governs: the elite that controls capital. On August 30th, the thengovernor Álvaro Dias attacked the teachers on strike who were fighting for betterworking conditions. But not even confronting the police, which is the armed wingof the State, disorganized the struggle of these workers. ---- When we look atthe history of state public education workers in Paraná, we realize that, evenafter so much bloodshed in the Civic Center, the fight never stopped. It was theworkers organized through strikes and with the radicalization of the strugglethat won many of the rights that we still have today. The dreamed up career plan,time-activity and improvements in the structure of state public schools. Theserights were not given, but earned.Our fight doesn't stop and never stopped. In 2015, Governor Beto Richa sent tothe Legislative Assembly a "package" that removed several of the rights that webravely conquered. In this strike, the first state public service strike of 2015,we went down in history as the biggest civil service strike. Our mobilization wasfundamental to stop the package that removed even the career plan that we have.The powerful have always used their power structures to maintain their privilegeswhile the people pay with their own blood and sweat for the party that only theyhave the right to access. But, we have learned from years of working classstruggle that no boss or ruler has ever granted rights to the population withoutthem going to fight. On the contrary, what comes from them is just theexploitation of our workforce, our bodies and minds. If it depends on them, wewill continue every day to be condemned to misery and hunger.
