On Saturday, November 26th, 2022, a rally took place at the Karlsruhe market
square in solidarity with those affected by the air raids by the Turkish army inSyria and northern Iraq. ---- About 70 people took part in the rally. Themajority of the participants then took part in a demonstration on the occasion ofthe day against violence against women* with around 150 people. ---- We documentthe flyer of a group of people who say they are committed to a world withoutrule. ---- Flyer text: ---- Rojava - where dreams come true ---- Rojava is aself-governing region in northern and eastern Syria that emerged during theSyrian civil war from 2012. It is inhabited by people of different ethnicorigins, including Kurdish, Assyrian and Arab people. The region borders Turkeyto the north and Iraq to the east.So far so unspectacular, you could say now. And pretty far away from me here inKarlsruhe. So why are there solidarity actions for any area in the Middle Eastaround the world, including in Karlsruhe?Rojava is not just a place in the Middle East. It is a global model for aself-governing society, for universally applicable pluralistic principles thatstand for equal rights for all people, regardless of ethnicity, religion orgender, and for ecological sustainability. In Rojava, wishes, dreams and ideas, just like we have them, have already come true or are being pursued.Self-governing, equal, sustainable - people can live like this, Rojava is the proof.Rojava - where defense is everydaySince 2016, Rojava has been attacked and partially occupied by Turkey. TheTurkish occupation primarily targets the Kurds and has led to serious humanrights violations such as ethnic cleansing against the Kurds. Observers rate theTurkish military actions as a war of aggression that violates international law.Turkey has long been demanding the formation of a "protection zone" in the Syrianborder areas and is thus in a direct conflict of interest with the PYD (KurdishParty in Syria, sister party of the PKK, the Kurdistan Workers' Party) and itsterritorial claims in northern Syria, known as "Rojava".Russia has so far supported Turkey's plans, but is currently calling on it torefrain from a full-scale ground offensive in Syria. But Russia will not takeaction against Turkey. The USA has not supported Turkey's invasion plans toimplement the "protection zone" for a long time. However, although they controlthe airspace in these areas, they do not prevent Turkey's attacks either. The other NATO countries are simply watching as Rojava is attacked. The fact is: in Syria, many countries with different interests are represented atwar - none of these countries is concerned with the people who live there. Therefore, the people of Rojava are left only with military, violent self-defense.We show solidarity with all people affected by oppression, persecution and war inRojava and all over the world. Defend Rojava - so that another world is stillpossible!written by people fighting for a world without domination11/26/2022https://anika.noblogs.org/2022/11/27/kurzbericht-zur-kundgebung-anlaesslich-des-tuerkischen-angriffskrieges-in-syrien-und-im-nordirak/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
