POLICE, MEDIA, JUDICIAL AUTHORITY - ALL TOGETHER COVER EVERY RUSSIAN

On Saturday, July 10, an 18-year-old girl managed to escape from the hell she was
experiencing, a prisoner in the hands of a cop, who kept her locked up in his
apartment in Ilioupoli, tortured her, raped her and systematically extradited
her. The girl, obviously beaten, arrives at a cafe in Ilioupoli and finds help in
the face of a working waitress who stood by her side. From the moment the police
are called, a new torture begins for her. Instead of being taken immediately to a
hospital, she ends up at the police station for hours and then transferred to
internal affairs, in conditions reminiscent of interrogation and detention,
without being allowed to communicate with her lawyer, without any care and
treatment for her injuries, without psychological support. As she denounces her
torturer, as well as the trafficking ring and the wretched porn clients-rapists
of captive bodies, she finds herself surrounded by his colleagues, alone. This is
not only an inhumane, sadistic attitude towards a girl who has been abused for
many years, but also a clear attempt to cover up her tormentors. When he is
finally taken to the hospital, the police guard obstructs the work of the
doctors, despite their protests, even invading the examination room. The girl is
still in the hands of the police being treated as a captive, as a prisoner, while
for two days she had not been examined by a medical examiner. It will take
several hours, and it will take the social pressure exerted by publicizing the
events and rallying solidarity, to finally arrest the cop as well as her father,
who raped her as a child. At the same time, the political leader of the uniformed
torturers and rapists, M. Chrysochoidis, in the face of the overflowing anger,
makes statements, offering full coverage to the actions of the police and
threatening those who question it, while speaking of a "case of domestic
violence", completely silencing the dimension of forced prostitution -
trafficking circuits, in which the police have a leading role.

Thousands of girls and women are held hostage in such a regime of daily rape and
abuse behind closed apartment doors, in a condition that is a modern form of
slavery. Most are unable to escape, as the rings, it has been revealed in the
past, are directly linked to the police who provide them with protection - when
not actively involved in terrorizing women with the law. The case of the
businessman of the "Choriatiko" chain is typical, who was tried together with 19
other members of the gang of body traffickers - among them a policeman - and
finally acquitted, since the women who denounced their tormentors had already
been deported from the country and could not testify. Many immigrant women are
held hostage by such circuits precisely because of the official state policy,
which denies them the right to move, which divides people into those with or
without papers, which imposes the daily fear of arrest and deportation back to
nowhere.

What arms the hands of rapists and murderers, and washes away their crimes is an
entire system, which has a name and is called patriarchy, the state and
capitalism. The perpetrators are nurtured, encouraged, armed and ultimately
covered and justified by the dominant values and the mechanisms themselves.
Indicative is the attitude of the police and the media in the case of Caroline's
murder, which for more than a month created the iconography of the rich,
successful, Greek father and husband, reproducing his story of "robbery by
foreigners" and sowing racism in society , xenophobic poison.

Patriarchal violence is present as an integral part of state and capitalist
brutality: From the sexual harassment reported by imprisoned immigrant women in
the Hell of Petrou Ralli, the rapes and femicides recorded on an almost daily
basis, the incarceration of refugee and immigrant women in concentration camps.
Let's not forget that three women were murdered in the last year by the service
weapon of their cop husband. We do not forget the role of DIAS policemen in the
lynching and murder of Zack Kostopoulos/Zackie Oh and the role of the judges in
the release of his killers (when the current SYRIZA opposition offered as a
government its undivided support to the policemen who served in hell of AT Omonia).

We do not forget the sexist and homophobic attacks, harassment and threats
against women, students, workers by the occupying police army in Exarchia. We do
not forget the 17-year-old girl in Thessaloniki who was brought in without reason
on November 17, 2020, when an orgy of police violence was unleashed across the
country, and was held for hours wearing only her bra. We do not forget the woman
arrested after the demonstration in N. Smyrna against the state repression, who
was tortured, like many others arrested that day, and received threats of rape by
the men of the MAT.

Patriarchal violence is systemic violence. It is an organic part of the
authoritarian and capitalist world for the division of the oppressed and the
spread of social cannibalism. And at the same time it is a systemic tool of
intimidation to keep women in a position of fear and submission, not to speak,
not to question, not to rise up. At a time when government propaganda, through
the General Secretariat of Gender Equality of the Ministry of Labor, has the
audacity to advise that "our tolerance for sexual, psychological, physical or
verbal violence must be zero", precisely these forms of violence are nothing but
the official and declared policy of the security forces towards the fighters, the
insurgents, the women who resist. The official policy is to blame the victims and
cover up the rapists, murderers and pedophiles, as in the Lignadis case.

We, as fighters, as anarchists and as women organize and collectivize against the
state, capitalism and patriarchy. We draw inspiration from the struggles that are
breaking out around the world, from the indigenous Zapatistas in the mountains of
Mexico and the women fighters of Rojava, the women of Poland and our sisters in
Turkey who are fighting against the imposition of state policies on their bodies,
to the insurgents in Myanmar, Chile and Colombia standing up to the killers and
rapists of the security forces. Hand in hand, side by side, on the street we
break the terror that the state and its uniformed agents are trying to impose on
us. With them we meet with a raised fist and a look of solidarity, which fills us
with determination to destroy every form of exploitation of man by man and to
shout with our sisters around the world that no murder and no abuse will go
unanswered, that the our collective voice can break all bonds and throw down all
walls. Let's shout that no woman who fights is alone and we will all fight
together until we manage to make the flame a fire and burn the rotten
authoritarian patriarchy to the ground. Until we build a world in which no one
and none of us will be left out, a world that will contain all the worlds.
