There were a few hundred male and female workers at the December 2nd city march,
called by grassroots trade unionism. ---- An anti-militarist segment and a socialsegment also participated in the procession. ---- The procession went through thecity center and ended in Piazza Castello. There was some scuffle in front of theIren office in via Pietro Micca, where the police in riot gear triedunsuccessfully to prevent the posting of some posters. ---- The procession, opened by the unitary banner of the grassroots unions "Down with arms, up withwages" was characterized by a strong anti-militarist attitude and opposition towar and the war economy. ---- Below is the text of the leaflet of theAntimilitarist Assembly and the Turin Anarchist Federation distributed in the square.Against war and the war economyTurin bets everything on the war industry to relaunch the economy. An economy ofdeath. Turin is already today one of the major centers of the aerospace war industry. And it is in Turin that the City of Aerospace will be built, a center ofexcellence for the aerospace war industry promoted by the arms giant Leonardo andthe subalpine Polytechnic. The Aerospace City, which will be built between CorsoFrancia and Corso Marche, will host an innovation accelerator in the field ofdefence, one of the nine European nodes of the Defense Innovation Accelerator forthe North Atlantic (D.I.A.N.A), a NATO structure. Pending the opening of the Cityof Aerospace, the innovation accelerator will be based at the OGR.NATO is investing one billion dollars in this project. A mountain of money thatwill be used to produce ever more sophisticated, ever more deadly technologies. The war industry is the engine of all wars. The City of Aerospace and the NATOinnovation accelerator are actively supported by the government of the city, bythat of the Region and by Confindustria. They play the card of employment blackmail, in an increasingly poor city, wheremaking ends meet is increasingly difficult, where health, education, transportare increasingly a privilege for those who can pay.The poor of our country, every time they go shopping, bring home less and lessfood, clothes and medicines, because the increase in energy prices and basicnecessities is making our lives even more precarious all.In these months of war in Ukraine, the Italian government has sent arms, multiplied the number of soldiers employed on the borders with Ukraine and theBlack Sea, increased war spending up to 104 million euros per day.Italy is engaged in 42 military missions abroad, mostly in Africa, where thetricolor troops wage war on migrants and defend the interests of giants such as ENI.This year, 560 Italian soldiers have landed in Qatar officially in defense of theWorld Cup, but in reality with a commitment that goes far beyond the sportingcompetition as part of an increasingly close military collaboration with thepetro-emirate. Qatar is becoming the world leader in liquefied natural gas (LNG)production. On 19 June this year in Doha, Italy signed an agreement for thecreation of a joint venture between QatarEnergy and Eni.The tricolor flags wave next to the yellow ones with the six-legged dog of ENI. Along trail of blood, oil and gas.As our utility bills continue to rise, the profits of gas and arms multinationalscontinue to rise.It is increasingly urgent to strengthen the opposition to war and militarism.Try to imagine how many schools, hospitals, local public transport could befinanced if research and production were used for the life of all of us, fortreatment instead of war.Try to imagine ending it, right now, with the state, bosses, military, police. They tell us the story that a complex society cannot be governed from below whilethey drown us in the chaos of centralized and bureaucratic management of schools, hospitals and transport. We build territorial assemblies, spaces, schools, transport, self-managed clinics.Let's kick the military off the streets, stop the production and transport ofweapons, do away with all armies!Let's block missions abroad, boycott ENI! We desert the war!Closure and reconversion of the war industry! No to the new war pole, no to the aerospace city!No to NATO in Turin! No to military spending!Against all homelands, for a world without borders!Antimilitarist AssemblyTurin Anarchist Federationcorso Palermo 46 - meetings every Tuesday at 9 pmantimilitarista.to@gmail.comhttps://www.anarresinfo.org/torino-una-giornata-di-sciopero-e-lotta-contro-la-guerra-e-leconomia-di-guerra/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.caSPREAD THE INFORMATION
