In a regular column, we publish a report on our activities for the past year. If
you want to support us, we will be happy if you print out a leaflet informingabout our activities and actively distribute it in the streets, schools or atconcerts. ---- The Ostrava Anarchist Federation (OAF) was founded in autumn 2016on the initiative of North Moravian anarchists (mainly from Ostrava,Frýdek-Místek, Ceský Tešín and Orlová). The main impetus for the creation of theOAF was the repression against the anarchist movement, which grew into politicalprocesses through the Phoenix case. This created a platform for bettercoordination of anarchist activities in the region. What were we doing in 2022?---- Solidarity in the streets ---- At the beginning of the year, VladimirPutin's fascist army invaded Ukraine. The OAF expressed solidarity with thevictims of the war by picketing in front of Ostrava's town hall, and we thensigned up for consistent antimilitarism on our website. Over time, unfortunately, some anarchists abandoned their anarchist positions and made the same mistake asthe leaders of the CNT in 1936 - for the sake of the "lesser" evil, they"temporarily" put aside the revolutionary perspective and focused on the defeatof one state-forming structure at the cost of cooperation with anotherstate-forming structure. Needless to say, it turned out to be a tragedy.Fortunately, these tendencies are rather in the minority within the Internationalof Anarchist Federations, and we believe that the repression of Ukrainiananarchists by the Ukrainian government will eventually open the eyes of someanarchists. The OAF respects the often difficult decisions of our Ukrainiancomrades and comrades who, under the pressure of the situation, are subject tocompromises, but this is not a reason to celebrate these steps. By purchasingsolidarity T-shirts, we supported anti-war saboteurs and deserters. The Ostravagroup FNB also engaged in anti-war activities, which organized the Carrotsinstead of War event for war refugees in March. In July we took part in the traditional Ostrava Pride, in October OAF pastedleaflets in the streets inviting the anarchist block of the Workers' Initiativeas part of a trade union demonstration in Prague. At the same time, a ClimateCamp organized by the collective Limity jsme we was taking place in thesurroundings of Ostrava, which culminated in a march and occupation of theOstrava coking plant. OAF actively supported Klimakemp. In November, we took partin a protest rally in front of the Polish consulate in Ostrava and the subsequentmarch. The event was planned on a day when neo-Nazis traditionally marchalongside conservatives in Poland to celebrate Independence Day. In December, along-time member left our ranks forever after serious health problems, for whomlocal activists organized a memorial concert.Publication activities and theoryDuring the year, we actively reported mainly on anti-war sabotage in Russia andUkraine. However, we also noticed other events in the world - we reported on theevents in Lebanon, when people began to rob banks in response to the fact thattheir accounts were frozen, and we also drew attention to the newly createdarchive of anarchist stickers. In August, we commemorated the anniversary of theanarchist and educator Paul Robin. In May, we published a polemical text that wasaimed inside the movement and tried to name the reasons why anarchism in theCzech Republic remains on the political sidelines. What we need?Do you want to join local anarchist groups and don't know how?
