glance display its link with the Zemmourian party. He suggests to " anxious "
parents, who would have the feeling of " leading to the slaughter " their
children by sending them to school, " to act " by committing themselves as "
Parent Vigilant " or by signing a petition. The latter opens with a denunciation
of the dangerous " deconstructivist ideology " of the " LGBT soup " served by
teachers " far-left activists wokes ", who rewrite history with leftist sauce,
degender the toilets and " open schools to fanatical LGBT activists " who " urge
students " to " torture their brains " and demand " hormone injections ".

This diatribe fits perfectly into the rhetoric deployed with force currently,
down to its conspiratorial foundations. It is indeed the idea that we should "
protect children " (from an epidemic of trans identity fueled by powerful
lobbies) that serves as a respectable showcase and main argument for the
transphobic movement. It is followed by an alert of " the Islamization of schools
", which dares the femonationalist argument of " little boys refusing to sit next
to girls ", just after having denounced the " degenerate playgrounds ". The
platform thus perfectly illustrates the ideological convergence of the " trans
plot " and the Great Replacement through the condemnation of a " National
Education devoted to the Great Indoctrination ".

Beyond the Internet, this campaign has concrete repercussions, since it has
already given rise to public meetings, such as in Haguenau, and tracts in several
cities. The transphobic leaflet is particularly successful among the " Parents
Vigilants ", and Isabelle Surply, regional councilor Reconquête de la Loire, thus
boasted, at the end of October, of having had a subsidy of 20,000 euros withdrawn
from an LGBT association. intervening in high schools, thanks in particular to a
reactionary agitation operation on social networks. This rhetoric is, in any
case, widely deployed by party members, as we have seen on the occasion of recent
press releases announcing the constitution of regional offices and federations
across France.

Dual power strategy
All of this is strongly reminiscent of the American model. After Trump's defeat
in 2020, the American far right has indeed embarked on a claimed and theorized
strategy of " dual powers  ". It pushes for the takeover of local bodies and in
particular the headquarters of school districts, to fight against
anti-discrimination measures and control programs. This has been accompanied by
both a veritable legislative onslaught of transphobic measures - targeting the
rights of trans minors and LGBTI workers in contact with children - and actions
of physical intimidation, such as rallies (sometimes armed) in front of places of
culture or education and bomb threats in a children's hospital and in a school.
All fueled by a culture war made up of incessant moral panics.

As far as importing, Zemmour has trusted professionals. It is Nation Builder, a
company based in Los Angeles and specialized in the organization of turnkey
popular mobilization movements, which hides behind the site and the campaign "
Protect our children ". An international astroturfing company which most of the
major candidates in the last presidential elections have called on, from Macron
to Mélenchon and all shades of the right.

Faithful both to its strategy of " the union of the rights " and to its recovery
reflexes, Reconquête has therefore found in transphobic activism a mobilization
issue that speaks as much to the ultra-conservative Catholic right as to
conspiracy and identity circles.
