France burns after another police killing. Crowds of people set fire to police
stations, shops, ATMs, restaurants. There is looting. Journalists talk aboutcivil war. ---- And the conservatives together with the liberals interpret theevents as the result of an uncontrolled wave of immigration, when "coloreds"cause riots because they cannot live as "decent people", or that it is areligious clash. ---- But how is it in reality? The segregated ghettos in thesuburbs of Paris and other big cities are a necessary consequence of neoliberalcapitalism. Capital needs cheap labor, so poor North African or Syrian workerswho will work for a pittance are suitable for them. Instead of respect, however, comes social exclusion, police harassment and living in poor neighborhoods. They can be hidden well, so a Western tourist sees the shiny windows of luxuryshops in the center of Paris, while everyone covers their eyes in the periphery.Capitalism is based on the poverty of the peripheries and the wealth of thecenters. And it doesn't matter whether the suburb is called Molenbeek,Prednádrazí or Luník.One day, however, the pent-up class rage explodes. The poorest simply attackthose who live from their wage labor and show with burning barricades "look, welive here too!". The rebellion has no agenda, no ideas, no leader. Innocents candie in it. But the culprit is not the poorest themselves, the culprit is thecapitalist system of segregation, which created this situation and continues tomaintain it in the same state.Politicians can debate endlessly, policemen and the military can persecute andpersecute endlessly... but as long as there is a segregated class with nothing tolose, riots will repeat themselves.https://oafed.noblogs.org/post/2023/07/04/valka-ve-francii-neni-rasova-ale-tridni/#more-1148_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
