MULTIPLE DEAD TRAGEDIES WITH IMMIGRANTS AT THE GATE ---- NO TOLERANCE TO STATE
AND CAPITAL DEATH POLITICS ---- DEFEND OUR LIVES ---- DISSOLVE FORTRESS EUROPE---- DEMONSTRATION TUESDAY 20/06, 18:00 VENIZELO STATUE ---- OUR SOLIDARITY TOTEAR DOWN BORDERS, FENCES, CONCENTRATION CAMPSOn the morning of Wednesday 14/06, a boat carrying refugees and immigrants withthe intention of crossing to Europe and seeking a better future in one of itscountries sank off Pylos. At the moment 78 dead have been recorded and the numberis increasing, while there is no information on the exact number of passengers,which makes it even more difficult to trace the missing.On 31/03, just one month after the mass state murder in Tempe, the agreement wassigned to "extend" the fence in Evros by 35 km, in order to further "upgrade" thearmoring of the external borders of Greece and by extension also of Europe . Thepush-backs, the illegal push-backs of immigrants, continue on a daily basis, theshipwrecks and drownings of those who attempt to cross the sea borders continueunabated, the immigrants are piled up in the concentration camps and those whowere "lucky" to stay in some relatively decent house through some housingprogram, now they are thrown out on the street. At the same time, governmentrepresentatives and the state apparatus as a whole are quick to refute the NewYork Times reports that talk about secret prisons in Evros where torture issystematically carried out, the attempt to exclude and displace immigrants fromthe social fabric and the center of cities continues unabated, the process ofgranting asylum is becoming increasingly difficult and the legal arsenal of thestate is being upgraded through the proposal of a draft law for the "NewImmigration Code" . And of course the M.M.E. in absolute harmony withstate-government dictates, they are using the death of so many people to onceagain spread their racist and xenophobic poison, attempting to shift the blamefor the lack of ambulances and in general for the dissolution of the E.S.Y. toimmigrants! the process of granting asylum is becoming more and more difficultand the legal arsenal of the state is being upgraded through the proposal of adraft law for the "New Immigration Code". But even those who manage toescape the concentration camps are faced with the harsh reality of living asinvisible beings within the capitalist centers. One government succeeds the otherand through their criminal policy which consists of the evacuation of the refugeesquatters, the intense pressures to leave their homes but also the interruptionor the terrifying reduction of the financial aids and programs that were providedto them, they force them to live under a regime of humiliation without knowingwhat dawns upon them. Evictions come one after the other, even for those asylumseekers who have made a positive decision, with the result that many of themleave the country or live with several individuals and families in one apartment,even living on the street without having other choise.The state and capital let us know for the thousandth time in the worst way, thathuman life has absolutely no value if you are a poor worker, immigrant or anymember of the lower social class. The lives of the oppressed continue to besacrificed. In the long list of deaths recorded in the midst of a pandemic, inthe increasingly frequent femicides and Roma murders by the uniformed guards ofthe state, in the enormous state-capitalist crime of Tempe that cost the lives ofat least 57 of our fellow human beings, in the hundreds of deadly " workaccidents", to the countless murders of refugees and migrants, at the land or seaborders, on the rocky islands and in the concentration camps, one more is to beadded. The list is endless.It is always power that kills!Anti-immigrant politics and the conservatism of society do not start today. Theregime of exception as exemplified in the concentration camps and the doctrine ofzero tolerance imposed on those who resist are the essence of the state andpower. The exodus of refugees from the squats, the murders in Moria, thelegislative difficulty for asylum seekers, the anti-abortion campaigns, theannouncements for the creation of closed detention camps, the intolerantnationalist rhetoric that spreads to the social body from the state and themechanisms, cultivate social fascism, aiming towards a direction of conservatismand overall subjugation of the social whole. The right to life and dignity isannihilated for those who are left out, for the weak, the poor, the immigrantsand the immigrant women, that is, democracy chooses who it will ignore and who itwill protect, and modern totalitarianism is on the rise. All policies aim at theintensity of poverty, impoverishment, the consolidation of social cannibalismamong the exploited, the lubenization of resistances and subjects, thestrengthening of the regime of exception for the "surplus" populations, theerecting of walls against the interior and external enemy. We have been sayingfor years that the devaluing of human life as perpetuated by the chronicallycriminal policies of the state and the dictates of capital are shapingincreasingly murderous environments. Today, after the mass state murder committedin Tempe, the feeling at the social base is that we are in the middle of anundeclared war, that human life has absolutely no value if you are a poor worker,a refugee, an immigrant or a member of a minority. The lives of the oppressed aresacrificed on the altar of capitalist profiteering, which in order to continuethe cycle of exploitation unhindered needs state terrorism.Our lives count! The lives of the workers, children and immigrants at the bordersor on the Aegean Sea, the lives of the distributors on whose backs the bossesdaily make a fortune, the lives of all the oppressed of this world, count.Today, the need for organization and resistance against state and capitalistbrutality seems anything but imperative.
