After the final vote on the bridge decree of 24 May Matteo Salvini, deputy prime
minister and minister of transport and infrastructure listed the details of the"project" (to be "updated"), and released the figures: 14 billion, and thedeadlines: 2032. He then threw his 100,000 jobs into the bowl of promises to theusual Sicilian-Calabrian starving victims. ---- We immediately thought of theEgypt of the Pyramids, with one hundred thousand slaves toiling to the point ofexhaustion to lift the blocks, often ending up crushed, in order to satisfy thenarcissistic taste of the pharaoh on duty. And so we imagined 50,000 Sicilianshere and 50,000 Calabrians there bursting with fatigue under the weight of beams, bricks, joints, cables, between a "mannaia a' maronna" and a "porcabbuttana", toindulge the northerner deception .The minister then unleashed the list of works "to enhance the bridge": motorways, junctions, quadrupling, high speed, railway electrification: all projects thatexisted before his current era in command, many even as old as the wooden canons.Nothing on the money that is missing, on non-existent projects or on those thatended with the impossibility of stable crossing. Nothing at all on the military'snegative opinion of an easy target-work, except for a multi-billion dollarmilitarization of the two shores and the stretch of sea.If a vote of confidence in the House or the Senate were enough to build thebridge, then a dozen bridges would already have been built. Instead we are at theusual rotten and moldy and not even well heated soup, of the hundred thousandjobs: always this cursed handful of bullshit thrown to work-starved populations, who unfortunately have to cling to some lie every now and then.Smoke and promises, and construction sites for builder friends: this is theBridge, a Bridge is against the South and against Sicily.https://www.sicilialibertaria.it/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
