WORLD WORLDWIDE SLOVAKIA News Journal Update - (en) Slovakia, Priama Akcia: There is no equality in capitalism! (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Rainbow marches have faced criticism in recent years due to commercialization and

the increasing presence of corporations. In response to this trend, moreradical-minded queer people form separate anti-capitalist blocs during rainbowmarches. Recently, we could see them, for example, in the Czech Republic and onJuly 17 at the Equality March in Warsaw. The following text is also about him. Wewere based on information from our sister union ZSP, which is also organizing aninternational workshop in mid-July on the problems of queer people in theworkplace (and the possibilities of defense), in which our union will alsoparticipate. The anti-capitalist bloc in Warsaw was the only one to point out the classconnections and problems of queer workers and people working in the sex business. This year, it was made up of approximately 200 people from ZSP, the WarsawAnarchist Formation, the Collective of Unceasing Help and a group of radicalpeople working in the Sex Work Polska sex business."Over the past two decades, the march has gone from a small procession of radicalactivists, usually attacked by Nazis and the extreme right, to a major mainstreamevent. Although this certainly shows some progress in making visible the statusand rights of LGBTQIA+ people, which is positive, most of the cars in the paradeare now provided by corporations... Politics, if it is present at all, is in thebackground, drowned out by the corporate-sponsored disco," he assesses thesituation in Warsaw union ZSP.These were also the reasons why the union did not participate in the EqualityMarches for a longer time. However, several things have happened over the pastyear that made it worthwhile to participate this time:Increase in hatred towards queer peopleTransgender people are the most affected by hate speech, while physical attackshave also taken place. At the same time, the number of TERF persons in feministcircles has also increased, which ZSP tries to oppose with the concept of radicalclass feminism. The attack on Warsaw's Syrena squat on December 5, 2022A large feminist and queer collective used to live in the squat, and the Sex WorkPolska collective also met there. However, the peaceful life was disrupted for along time by one resident with violent and authoritarian tendencies. He did notchange his behavior even after repeated attempts at mediation, so he was kickedout of the squat. However, he contacted people from the nearby Przychodnia squat, and after a joint big attack, they destroyed the Syrena squat so much that itremained uninhabitable. As it turned out, people from the Workers' Initiativeunion also joined the attack, and collectives linked to these unions (in additionto the Przychodnia squat itself, the Warsaw Tenants' Association and the Rozbratsquat in Poznan) in the following months repeatedly insulted transgender peopleand spread anti-personnel comments working in the sex business.Attacks by reactionary feminismZdruzenie Bez was particularly active in attacks on people working in the sexbusiness (one of the main representatives of this group is also a member of theWorkers' Initiative in Warsaw). This group approaches the subject of feminism ina reactionary way and does not see issues such as queer rights as real workingclass issues. In its comments, the association stigmatized sex workers(especially women) and spread puritanical misogyny.Sex Work Polska is one of the few independent organizations working in Poland, soZSP was pleased that they wanted to participate in the march to defend theirinterests and rights from the position of workers and to make their problemsvisible. However, people from the Bez collective also wanted to participate, which outraged several organizations. A petition was created against theparticipation of Bez, which forced the organizing team to exclude Bez from the event. The ZSP union evaluates the march with the following words:"Given the above facts, we think that the presence of an anti-capitalist blockwith radical slogans and a strong focus on the workers' movement was necessarymainly because other workers' organizations do not address this topic due to theconservatism and phobias of part of their membership. During the march, we handedout hundreds of leaflets with QR codes referring to the problems of LGBTQIA+people in the workplace and more general information, for example, for workersemployed casually or illegally (there are quite a lot of them among queer people)."The next step of the ZSP will be the July international workshop on the problemsof queer people in the workplace and the possibilities of how to defend yourself.Processed based on an article on the website of the ZSP unionhttps://www.priamaakcia.sk/V-kapitalizme-neexistuje-rovnost-.html_________________________________________A - I N F O S  N E W S  S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
