 We are reprinting the invitation of the Ostravský prajd collective. ----

Join us for the fifth year of the anti-capitalist pride parade in
Ostrava, which is not only a celebration of queer life and solidarity,
but also a protest against the oppressive structures of capitalism and a
fight against the unceasing (and ever-increasing) oppression that we
must always as queer people face from the authorities, the state and the
public. ---- We believe that capitalism perpetuates inequality and
discrimination, and it is necessary to address these systemic problems.
It is important for us that the original idea of prajd, based on the
protest against all forms of oppression or exploitation and the struggle
for liberation and autonomy, lives on in the legacy of the queer movement.
The streets of Ostrava will therefore come alive with colorful banners,
chanting and Rhythms of Resistance music, so that we can stand together
for a society that values human rights, social justice and community
well-being over profit, and stand up against the commodification of
bodies and identities.

The parade will lead through the center of Ostrava and will spread the
message of inclusivity and radical change, amplify the voices of
marginalized communities and inspire collective action.

We will meet on Saturday 29 July at 1:00 PM in Comenius Gardens (at the
bust of J. A. Comenius), from where the procession will go to the center
and return to Comenius Gardens.
