insufficient to solve the problem of poverty. In Italy, according to

poverty, i.e. in conditions of severe material and social deprivation as
stated in the official formula, while 14 million and 300 thousand people
are at risk of poverty.
In the face of this dramatic situation, fewer than two and a half
million people will have their basic income removed (data from January
2023): truly a drop in the bucket, which confirms the almsgiving nature
of the provision launched by the first Conte government.
The new government does worse and with fascist brutality erases even
this meager benefit.
In reality, the money is there, only the government has other
priorities: the war in Ukraine and the arms manufacturers; politicians,
parliamentarians, mayors, who have seen their benefits increase; the
private and state monopoly energy and fossil groups, together with the
large financial groups, to which the funds of the PNRR will be destined,
canceling the appropriations available to local authorities.
There is only one way to change the government's choices: take to the
streets against the government, whatever it may be. And to achieve this
result, unity of all exploited classes, of the working class, of those
living in conditions of unemployment or underemployment, autonomy from
bourgeois ideologies of productivity and national interest,
internationalist class struggle.
The only way to eradicate the scourge of poverty is a profound social
transformation that no government is capable of carrying out, only those
directly involved with organization and struggle.
